Fully expected that performance but we are second in the table Into knockout in Europy Latter stages of Carabou Cup FA may be a write off not bad really Next week Arsenal at home Win that and we are back top Not a terrible position to be in
I said on here a couple of times we knew it would be no foregone conclusion - nobody disagreed. None of my friends were talking it up. All I've seen is media foghorns blaring out their usual rubbish. As for the fans in the stadium, yeah they wanted to see better and went quiet when it didn't happen, but that's not the same as expecting it to be easy.
we really need to work on our close passing to break down deep defences as far too often the pass isn't quite right and that is enough to mean goal / no chance .
In positive news, we’ve managed to avoid being included in the new 32 team club world cup **** that’s happening in 2025 meaning won’t have **** tonne of knackered players where haven’t had any time off. One perk of city and Chelsea winning CL in last 4 years as they’ve taken the English places.
I'll say again though that we've been poor since the international break, but somehow got 11 points from 5 league games, including games against City and United. Hope we beat West Ham on Wednesday, but I'd gladly lose that if it meant beating Arse on Saturday. Win that, our Boxing Day game at Burnley and New Year's day against Newkie and, well... that would be 20 points from 24, and that's title-winning form. Probably won't happen (I'm not looking forward to Arsenal at all), but this is all while we're not playing well at all. Only two league games in January as well, aren't there? Cba about The Rumbelows Cup and the FA this season either, and hopefully we'll put in a bid for Andre (or Paulinho?) until Batejic is ready to step up as our long-term 6 in the future. Not all is bad.
Coefficient is highest. But can only have 2 from each country unless there’s more from winning the Cl. So we’d be above cheksea but as they’re cl win is included they take an automatic place.
yeah, but as I say, only 2 league games? That's all that really counts in my book this season, the league (please God this is City's off year and we're there to pounce) and the UEFA final in Dublin. God, what a season that would be.
I'd rather think it's Chelsea have dirty saudi money involved. fifa are very busily selling football to the Saudis. I won't be watching this travesty.
Think it’s minimum 2 games. Plus potentially more if they make the knockouts which they’re expected to do. Plus remember how **** he was when came back from afcon 2 years ago?
it's going to be a joke where top clubs are sat at home while virtual semi pros get hockeyed left and right.
Funny thing is. Had we scored in the first 15 mins, that could easily have been 7-0 again. We had the dominance and if they couldn't just defend they could have opened up. All said and done though, we were the better team today and three points would have been nice, but we're honestly not good enough to be "top of the table". On form we're better than City perhaps, but in reality we're probably only third best team in the league at the moment and third might be a realistic finishing spot. Obviously need to keep pushing as hard as we can. City are leaking points and Arsenal are capable of dropping some too.
But then again I don't see Arsenal playing Mourinho tactics. Seem to remember ManU sacked him cause that kind of football wasn't ManU, and look how they cling to it today.
