KLD’s recent interventions have resulted in the biggest swarm of angry fans I can remember. Michael Beale isn’t the worst human being that ever walked the earth but there’s the matter of an FA cup match with our friends up the road, who are pandered to and controlled with a surprising amount of success. In Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodussi MBS has even set up a mam and dad to comfort them and tell them what to think. Come to think of it, I’ve changed my mind… I really wouldn’t want that for us.
Gave the interviews and beale presentations a go. You can start to see their logic, especially with such a young team. He's worked under ancelotti and klopp and seems to be very well versed on bringing together young players and different styles. I'm still not sure it works but the club are probably wanting him to develop our coach's as well and bring in some best practices from elite set ups. We'll see
I think I would rather go back in for Farioli mate and get him in the summer even. But then again why would he give up on possible Champions League football for us. We missed that boat by being too loyal to TM last summer. The fans were kicking off at the rumours but the owners should have just went with their instinct. Here we are several months later...we all knew it was going to happen anyway. Will Still used us and I don't want him anymore. But Beale FFS...Kim Helberg must have had a bad interview! I'm rambling now. Hate Sundays when we lose on the Saturday. Feel flat as a pancake today.
Still finding it very difficult to find anything positive being said about Beale. Even Souness had come out and said SAFC is just too big a club for him. We’re heading for a few steps down the ladder if we appoint this self opinionated chancer. IE back to square one. Really can’t believe Speakman & KLD would take such a risk, unless they think they can reach the PL on the cheap. Still hoping it’s a dream. I’d actually take Neil or Mowbray back rather than appoint Beale. Bart
Mind, you don't coach at Chelsea and Liverpool if you don't have something about you. Gerrard and a few others in the game rate him a lot. My conclusion from all of this is that the board have to trust their judgement. He certainly has the pedigree and standing in the game, also a long career coaching young players. Let's back him 100 % and also give him until the summer and judge him then
Nixon said it was done now back tracking saying contracts need sorted, maybes it’s not the done deal we all think? (99% sure it is though)
Don't be surprised if the back peddling has already started at the Club. For every positive comment about Beale, there are others slating him ,Souness yesterday that the job here is to big for him , the pundits and people who know his style on Talk sport this morning as two examples
Until it’s official the escape hatch is still unlocked. Good test of character for Beale, if he makes a run for it he’d probably not last the distance anyway.
When Johnson was sacked the Club in one statement ,just after Neil had been appointed, stated that they had a revolving list of candidate and would not be caught out again...Hollow words it looks like.
Don't disagree, but not sure what your comment has to do with my post. I would maintain that we have made progress, management wise. I would also contend that we did have a list of likely replacements IF I'm charitable I'd say that the club had a prime target, possibly even received some encouragement and then couldn't get them, for whatever reason. The process then continues and we end up with Beale as the best candidate. Let's see how it plays out.
I know a lot of people would lose respect in the club if they backed out of the Beale deal due to fan backlash, but to me, it least it would mean we finally have owners who listen to feedback and want to please the fans, even if they get it wrong. I'd rather we live and die together as a club and fanbase united, than them think they know best and appoint someone that 99% of the fans don't want. It'll still probably be Beale like and will be announced tonight or in the morning, but I'm just saying, I'd not mind if they pulled out of it. At this point, I'd keep Dodds in situ until the summer and then either go for Still, or lineup someone up. Making sure Dodds knows his position is only guaranteed until the summer. If we're playing great football and looking good for playoffs, potentially sign Dodds up for longer.
I wouldn’t, basically the fan base doesn’t have a clue, and go along with any daft twat who starts the next rumour.
