As long as the players understand his buzzwords and have a clue what he is talking about

They don't know the fans views. They only have interaction with a very tiny percentage of them. They do not represent all fans, and such a thing is neither possible nor desirable.

But the appointment of a manager should be ENTIRELY at the discretion of the owner. We have emotion invested, he has his money. If he makes a pig's ear of it we get annoyed, but he loses his shirt.

Emotion is rarely a good basis for decision making in football. If it were, Ferguson wouldn't have been at Utd long enough to win anything. Martin O'Neil would have been ousted at Leicester after one particularly bad run before they achieved anything. Ditto many others, including Thomas Franks who had a truly horrific start at Brentford. The same applies to appointments. There was no fanfare when Kieran McKenna was appointed at Ipswich. Ditto umpteen others; Arsene who?

We just watch and shout. We're okay, could be better, might get better. But we just watch and shout.

Right. Hopefully the new coach will come good. People are frustrated. My main frustration is that that new forwards haven't worked out yet, If they had TM would still be here...

It’s actually a bit embarrassing seeing people foam at the mouth without having any idea what they’re talking about because a few rangers fans said he’s sh*te.

The same Rangers who sacked Van Bronkhorst after he somehow led them to a europa league final a few months beforehand. The same rangers who sold their best players, let others run down their contract and then spent barely anything whilst Celtic spent another £40m on players after winning the league..

Beale amassed over 90 points last season which would’ve been more than enough to win the SPL most years but Celtic had a stormer and won the treble - beating Rangers in both cup finals.

It’s like arguing that Liverpool were ****e in their 97 point season because City were better.

Speaking to my Rangers supporting mate his biggest bugbear was how much money Beale wasted on "duds" - he's not sure how good a man manager he is, but admits he's an excellent coach, The feeling when Gerrard was there was that Beale did all the coaching and tactics - Gerrard was the man manager.

It might be that this setup suits him better than being a manager at a club like Rangers

Pandering to whims and fancies isn't strong leadership in my opinion ...

... people continually demanding statements, on every subject, has become a bit needy tbh.

Is that the same Neil that got us promoted so really can't understand how he didn't move the club forward by having it in a higher league than when he arrived

I used to love it when my brother in law would text me to say someone was ****ing **** and shouldn't be on the pitch, you could guarantee what was going to happen in the next 10 minutes

    Beale Zebub.
I'm sure the club have done their homework.
Most people probably know as much about the contenders as I do.
    Not a lot.
Doddsy was the messiah after two games. Then came yesterday's bizarre team selection.
If it is Bealsey then only time will tell whether he's the man.
Boring I know but hey ho. That's me.

Cheers mate excellent article. Trying to stand back and be a bit more balanced than my initial knee jerk reaction .

From this and other things I've read there is little doubt he is a very good coach and in general players loved him (Rangers faction excluded)

All the feedback I get from my Rangers mates seem to stem from his very antagonistic and frankly unlikeable press conferences. I've watched a few and they are pretty grim. Also maybe his stubbornness and not having a plan B.
My take is that he bit off more than he could chew. Going into Rangers and coaching is one thing but going in as an old school manager expected to do everything just overwhelmed him. His transfers were poor he had a number of players who wouldn't buy into his methods and sin of sins he just didn't get the Celtic rivalry.

Coming into Sunderland will be different although size and expectations of fans and Rivalries with the Mags will be similar.
He is here to do what he does best. Coach and develop young players. There is no doubt he will need to work on his comms style but hopefully he has learned from his Rangers experience.

Still have some doubts Not having a plan B and stubborn tactical style worry me also his Lee Johnson esq talk wont go down well with some.
But you never know the potential is certainly there Its possible the club may have just unearthed the right fit to move us forward.
