His premier league experience was a flop, and using Cardiff as some sort of justification that he’s good enough to do it for a top team in Europe, playing other top teams in Europe, is laughable
You realise his career started before coming to us don't you? Fenerbahce are a champions league/europa side. 50 caps or so internationally. He's got pedigree, and now, it seems he has fitness too. The question is consistency. Not ability.
Opinions are a bit like onions, each one has a different layer, some people like them, others don’t but in the end it’s just an opinion, take it or ****ing leave it…. My opinion/ onion was, I watched a proper player up close and personal and was very impressed…..
So are Fernabache a top club in Spain, Italy or England then? Celtic are also a champions league side, what’s your point? The same club also let him come to us for less than 5 million - I really like Tufan, but he’s not good enough to play for a top club in Italy, Spain or England, which is what I said was nonsense
I was also very impressed, thought he was brilliant, still doesn’t mean I think he’s good enough to play for a top club in Europe - that’s my opinion, as you say, take it or leave it
We play ourselves down too much at times and days like today make it clear. We were seriously good today, and there's now only the parachute teams and Ipswich ahead of us. I think it's time we recognised what a good side we are and what a fine job Rosenior, Acun and Tan are doing. What's held us back a lot this season has been finishing, final passes and decision making in those final third areas. This week that's really started to click though; the Tufan goal at Boro was very clinical, and today we did it again. The Tufan goal today was a brilliant ball from Morton, but even then Ozan's two touches had to be perfect and he got them spot on, and then the finish was perfect too. Throw in a brilliant free kick and you've got a clinical goalscoring performance. Keep that up and there's no way we don't make the playoffs. We talked about Allsop proving people wrong in midweek. Today I think Twine did too. It was always daft to question his free kick prowess just because he hadn't scored one yet, but people did. He was always going to score one eventually with his record and he'll probably score more. Also Connolly, there's been a lot of talk about his fitness, attitude and form, but he's actually appeared in 20 of our 23 games this season and his limited minutes have been down to the consistent form and availability of others like Delap, Philogene and Twine. He's got 6 goals which is a decent return and he's been able to play two sets of 90 minutes this week out of nowhere, which is worthy of credit. He's been a very good signing. One of the many things Rosenior gets unfairly criticised for is his talk in the summer of making us more robust and the narrative that he's not done it. He really has done it. We've had way less injuries than last season, and we've got several players who play high-intensity roles week in, week out and always remain available. Not every player obviously, but that's an unreasonably high expectation. Lastly, there's always a lot of talk about how important it is that we play two out and out wingers. Today we didn't have any and we played very well. It showed that Twine can work out there and Delap on the right can work well too.
Twine and Delap provided a lot of width today though. That’s the point really when we go with Twine/Slater/Traore. We really lack the dynamism on both sides that we had today. Twine’s passing was so consistent into runners beyond and Delap is just levelling up to being one of the best players in the division. Hope Twine kicks on because that was comfortably his best performance for us today, even without the free kick he was absolutely quality. If we somehow manage to get Delap permanently I don’t think I’ll ever wear socks again.
He could play in the premier league, or one of the top European leagues, yeah, if he can be at his best consistently.
No but it’s incredibly clear in his touch, ball striking and calmness he has that next step up sort of talent where if he was more consistent he’d be a prem player.
Spot on, hopefully today proved a lot of doubters wrong against a side that had been playing very well. Huge game against Bristol City now to kick on. Only three goals less scored than Leeds and Southampton shows LR's attacking systems can't be too bad..
When you get a performance like that, there is not much to say, as the game speaks for its self. Totally dominant from start to finish, expected much more from Cardiff, but we just didn't allow them to get a foot hold in the game. Tufan was outstanding as was Morton, Morton ball for Tufan's goal was a work of art. Great to see Twine get his goal from the free kick, and Connolly worked his socks off and was rewarded with his 6th goal of the season. Having picked out 2 or 3 players, really every player including substitutes were on it, and Vaughan look lively when he came on. Keep playing like that, and we will certainly be in the mix come the end of the season. But for the moment up to 5th, 3 goals and a clean sheet, a perfect Saturday.
Fantastic result and performance lads....well done to all including rosenior who i usually slag off!!!....next 4,games definitely winnable!!
I don’t disagree with that, or that he could play in a top European league, if he was at his best all the time - that’s very different from saying he should be playing for a top club in Europe in Spain, Italy or England - anyway bored now, he was brilliant for us yesterday and played a big part in what was one of the best games we’ve played this season
