I won't repeat the point but facts domt care about opinions but thats that. Merry Christmas to you mate im off!
The problem with the rotation argument is that in truth those who weren’t rotated and people would have liked to have seen mostly have done well anyway. Livramento, Miley maybe Hall. Murphy, Barnes and Wilson /Isak were rotated and the midfield when players were fit included Bruno, Tonali, Longstaff, Willock, Anderson and Joelinton over 3 positions. How much more rotation would “fans” have put up with if it had affected results? Recruitment probably has had an effect but we either trust these people to get it right over a period of time, not just two years, or we must be mad.
Two points. One, Livramento was getting no minutes. Hall still gets no minutes. Miley was an emergency and thankfully worked. The whole point is they weren’t getting game time, mate. Two, the recruitment was obviously poor at the time, hindsight not even needed. Few more years things will definitely change. There’s just the disappointing feeling of not really having a CL squad and subsequently falling away in all the competitions.
Yes as I said, the players people wanted to see come in really only amounts to two or three. Livramento, Miley and Hall but they have all done well when coming in so their earlier lack of minutes didn’t affect us. Certainly Miley was a bonus although he was already around the squad and with six other midfielders for three places that understandably didn’t appear to be a problem area. Recruitment is an area we never really know the full story. Tonali we just won’t know about now till next season. Hard to say Barnes was a bad signing when we have seen so little of him. I don’t get the argument that we already had Gordon yet we argue that we need players good enough to rotate. Livramento I see as a good signing but would agree that he could have been used to rest Trips a couple of times. Hall is only 18 and we haven’t had to pay up front for him. I’d have liked to see another centre forward and right sided Centre back but it’s a journey. I’d rather we get another real top signing than pick up stop gaps we can’t get rid of even if it means another season or two to really get the squad we want.
There you go confirmation from the manager himself that it hasn't been just luck! Take your time to absorb it.
Have done and you really need to read past the headline. He doesn’t say what you want him to say. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...ews/eddie-howe-makes-injury-mistakes-28304259
It definitely does.. he says there's been mistakes ie not just luck. He's too bright to just blame luck like the intelligencia on here.
Hardly an admission by him of him making mistakes or having problems due to lack of rotation which was the argument on here for some as to why we had so many injuries. "Don't get me wrong, there have been mistakes made and there will always be mistakes made medically because it's that kind of profession. You're not going to get every assessment right. A lot of the time, you're in the hands of the specialist. But the weight of games we've had – and it's still unrelenting for us – we just haven't recovered properly."
He admits it isn't just luck though which was what some of our simple folk were putting it all on. I like Howe because he doesn't make excuses and is the type to look for reasons and solutions rather than just blaming luck. The full picture
