I think he’s a really talented player who hasn’t worked out how to put it all together yet. One day, it might all click - the coaches might be hoping / expecting. His confidence doesn’t look great though and might contribute to some of the bad decision making.

Clarke and Roberts done one of those teammates videos and said he was the most skilful player at the club, not that it means much… TM reckoned Burstow scored about 50 goals in a training session.

Our keeper had one of those games, he's usually one of our weakest links.
You have better players than us, where did you get your 10, and deserved a win.
A striker and you'd have won with ease.

Sometimes you wonder what the players do in training , todays error by goalie Patterson has been coming for weeks , he is a good goalkeeper in general but his kicking is an obvious weakness that needs improving and the coaching staff should have been aware that an improvement was required . It has been a topic of conversation between fans for quite a while now , perhaps we were spoilt by Pickford who seemed so accurate with his kicking - I am not blaming Patto for the defeat though as anyone can make a mistake hopefully it’s an aspect of his game for him to work on if he is going to be a top class keeper .

The problem we have is some weeks our kids look like they could play for Man City and next they are like Rabbits in the headlights.
With this plan from our owners we are constantly going to experience highs on a good day and the lows with very little inbetween. I got lost in the moment quite a few times last season with this but its all making sense now. Buy young, develop, sell repeat.
Its all pretty sad and depressing to me tbf, and becoming more and more less bearable.
Neil and Mogga both lost their jobs for having an opinion, i dont feel comfortable right now in what we are doing vs what we should be doing as a club in the 2nd tier that gets 40k gates.

Disagree. It wasn’t his “kicking” that caused the problem today, it was the decision on who to pass to. Neil was under so much pressure, the only option was to go long and regroup. Experience would’ve told him that. I think he’s a cracking keeper but has those lapses in judgement when picking a pass. Have seen him ping some cracking passes with both feet. He’s not in the “Pickford” school, nowhere near (very few are), but he can pass a ball.

Sadly, you may not be blaming Patterson (few if any are), yet if O’Nien had made that mistake there’d be pitch forks out for him! The whole of social media would be in meltdown!

not scoring from 20 shots (for the 7 or 8th time this season) is what cost us. Patterson’s kicking pairs into insignificance when compared to that stat! Our finishing is ****e! First half we had 3 or 4 good chances, keeper threw his cap on every on target shot

Do you mean if we had a goal scoring centre forward, we might have stood a chance of wining.

Bad day. I fully expected a win yesterday. It wasnt to be. We move on.

At some point this team will click and we will get a run of wins.

Wasn’t just the centre forward. Roberts any Prichard both seemed unable to kick a ball properly in front of goal first half. A “goal scoring centre forward” wouldn’t immediately solve everything necessarily. It might, but there are no guarantees.

Thought Dodds got it completely wrong yesterday personally. Think he has to shoulder all of the blame. Set up was as if we were playing not to lose. Which, 7 from the last 3, would’ve been fine. But this was a game against a poor side and we should’ve gone for it. West Brom and Leeds far better sides than them, and we pushed them both.

Problem with that anaylsis is we did not push Leeds or West Brom they banged their heads against a brick wall, and thats how we should have played yesterday, we have the players to do it but we don't have the coach who can see it, even when it was presented to him in technicolour, accident or design , who knows, But judging by yesterdays team selection accident I,d guess, And this continual lament abourt the strikers is a blind alley .Just my opinion on the Weak That Was.

    Cheers RTB.

I’ve just watched the extended highlights - a bit grim though we could / should have snatched a draw. The challenge on Ballard looked like a pen.
