Very good news. Hampshire: England prospect John Turner among four players given new contracts - BBC Sport
England 45 - 3 Match delayed - England 161 - 7 with 10.0 overs remaining West Indies win by 4 wickets (DLS Method)
I get Key saying that Dawson and Jacks are better off playing cricket (franchise t20) over running the drinks (for the test team). That's kind of obvious. What I'm less convinced by is why are they so far down the pecking order that running in the drinks is the closest they can get to the test team. It's India, where batters and spinners are vital. They're the best two spinning all-rounders in the country. I'd have certainly taken one of them.
This. And Leach is hardly guaranteed to be fit to play all 5 tests. Dawson would have been a really good back up for him.
Vince entering the auction for next year's IPL. It's the one global T20 competition he's yet to crack. Unfortunate for him, as it's easily the most lucrative. He'll obviously miss the start of the next county season should he be bought but he has set a high base price so may go unsold.
I hope Turner gets at least a game on this tour. I guess they mainly took him for the experience but I did expect him to play at least some part in the T20 series.
Difficult to see him getting a game whilst the series is live. If WI chase this down, to go 3-1 up, I'd like to think he plays in the dead rubber on Thursday. But it's more likely to be 2-2, and I doubt he would make his debut in a decider. After the past few months, Jos will really want to win this series.
WI 135 - 7 wickets (10.1 overs) need 133 runs to win from 9.5 overs with 3 wickets remaining Update WI 192 all out.
23 tickets fall on the first day of the second test between South África and India! How on earth does a team.end up with a 100 run advantage after being bowled out for 150 odd? Having said that, could SA put together a decent total.in their second innings and skittle India in their second innings like they were in their first innings to win the test?
Well done South África and India on producing a result in the shortest time ever, in 642 balls, for a Test match. The previous record also involved South África, not that they will welcome this new entry into the record books.
The biggest shock to anyone who goes to look at the stats for that match is that one player managed to score a century. And lost.
Telegraph reporting that Neser will be one of our Blast overseas players this year (presumably in the expectation that Ellis will be at the World t20). And that he potentially might feature in the two Championship games which fall during the Blast season (presumably as cover for Abbas, if he's headed back to Pakistan for that part of the season).
