I believe that this Thursday is some kind of deadline for loan signings till January. Looking at the bench on Saturday with 75 minutes on the clock, there seemed to be little available to Nick Barmby in order to apply a freshing up that was required. Ignoring the soon to be returning Olifinjana and Garcia (they will not be realistically be ready till Christmas), I d suggest that with tough games coming up we need 2 or 3 three players to bolster our flagging squad numbers so we are still there or there abouts in January. Discuss.........

I think that you're right that this Thursday is the last day to get in emergency loans. After then we'll have to wait until the January window.

I'm not sure whether an "emergency" is a pre-requisite for such a loan, for example if we had 1 or no keeper available for selection then that would of course be an emergency.

If you can get players in on loan without there being an emergency I agree that we need 2 or 3 players, but who would come on a short-term basis when the January window (when they can get a 6 month loan deal) is looming?

Ideally we should bolster our squad before Thursday if possible. As you say, we have some tough fixtures coming up, none more so than Southampton away as their home form is tremendous

I think 2 or 3 is a little dramatic but certainly we could do with another attacking option.

Looking at the bench on Sat, I think Cairney is a good option for central mid cover/something different, McShane is adequate defensive cover (with Daws not far away also), Brady gives you pace and options in the wide/front 3 options, so not a lot wrong.

I really can't see anything happening this week, think it will be Jan before anything happens, both loan and permanent, when Waggy goes back, Brady potentially goes and NB is either confirmed as permanent boss (because he has decided thats what he wants) or someone else is in (just to clarify, I don't see that happening).

I seriously doubt we'll see any emergency loans coming in.

We've got Olofinjana and Garcia expected back in two weeks, with Pusic and Waggy to also return at some point shortly, so I think we'll run with what we've got until January and we'll aim for any targets to be sorted in the January window.

Unless we have targets Walsh/NP had identified to us for January before Leicester came in for them that Barmby still wants. Then we could look to get them on emergency loans now with permanent deals agreed for January to beat the rush. Although the last time I remember us doing that we got Paynter and Collins.

    Was Walsh that good?
    Hope Apkin
    Amoo
    Harper
    Rowan Vine
Plus others I cant think of at the minute
I know he brought in Chester,Dudgeon,Evans and Stewart but I dont think its hard to work out that players playing in the Man U Youth team are going to be of a good standard!

I think most sides in this division would struggle with a couple of injuries, I doubt we'll see anyone come in as we have Oli ad Garcia to come back and of course there's the returning Stewart and Mcshane. I think we'll see the squad added to in January, but until I think we'll stick rather than twist with what we have.

Bloody weird list that someone's put up on Football Rumours, most of them I've never of and most aren't even doing that well at the lower league clubs they're already at...

New Hull City boss Nicky Barmby has gave five targets to the board he would like to recruit in the January transfer window.
-Derby's 23 year old midfielder come right back James Bailey is interesting Barmby as the former England international looks to recruit the former Crewe player for an undisclosed fee.
-Barmby is keen on bringing in Walsall captain Andy Butler. Butler plays centre half and is keen on a move back into the Championship, where he played for Blackpool and Scunthorpe United.
-Former Chelsea youngster Danny Philliskirk is set to join on a nominal fee from League 1 side Sheffield United after Barmby had a fee accepted late Sunday night for a move in January.
-Former Scotland striker David Clarkson is in talks with Hull from Bristol City after Barmby had a £200,000 bid accepted for the former Motherwell hitman.
-Finally, Barmby is also expected to complete a deal for another striker in Plymouth's 17 year old striker Matt Lecointe. Lecointe is interesting a number of top Championship clubs but Hull are set to bag the youngster on a four year contract.

For me...... NB will soon have the likes of Waghorn - Garcia - Dawson - Olifinjana back in the squad and with only 5 subs there is not much room for more. Unless there is a player off everyones radar that can help improve what NB has at his disposal then leave it all til Jan and see how things are. As Nick has said, ""there aint much wrong"" he just has to keep it going.

I wouldn't read into it; there's little/no chance that we could get Lecointe.

    Amazing stuff!

Anyway in the real world I cannot see us justifying an "emergency loan" unless there is a road accident tomorrow or Weds.

Didn't Mr Allam say it was £1 million for January transfers - so Clarkson for £200000 sounds the type of player we would be after. Doubt our chairman will be bullied into paying over the odds for any player and give them silly contracts like some previous chairman - wish could remember his name. And good 2 of those names are strikers as we need 1 to replace Waghorn minimum

I Raised this point at the weekend... yep one or two players coming back in next month, but bench does not look brilliant & we have two games a week from now on... also probably now missing our best bench player... Barmby himself!
I Would like one more in before Thursday!

But not sure Nick has given much thought to player options to come in with the pace of his appointment!
