I hear this mate, I really do. But isn’t part of the club being well ran maximising revenue when they have the opportunity? The ownership group are very open about a sustainable football club and turning away a cash cow ain’t it. Could have been handled better, consulted, sure. Can we really say the club isn’t pushing forward almost constantly now though? We absolutely can’t say that cos it’s not true.
I'd imagine it will be as it ever was, blood and thunder and all form out the window for a ferocious cup tie against the skunks, flames fanned in advance by the pixels of social media.
But you don’t have a season ticket and don’t attend games? Yet criticising those who will move seats or leave for 20 mins. Bit hypocritical imo but everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Reading the thread looks like I’ll be in the minority but enjoy this forum and reading peoples opinions but this whole thing has been really disappointing for me. For the game itself, for obvious reasons the mags have every advantage on the pitch, they’re a good side no doubt (as are we but at a lower level). One advantage we had was creating an atmosphere that would make it hard for the mags and favourable for our lads, this decision is more beneficial for the mags giving them a stand in the lower bowl. Second, for fans in the NS who now have to move to potentially more expensive seats and possibly away from the people they sit with is ****. I’m not affected as I’m in the west stand but I’d be gutted after years of league 1, seeing us get beat at home to burton etc in the hope we’d get back to our best and get to watch big games like this to be told well you can’t have that seat you’ve had for years and you might not be able to sit next to your grandad for the game. I know STH don’t get cup games but we’ve always had first choice of our ST seats and I know it’s only one game but these are the games that can leave the best memories for supporters. Re the display, I find it weak from the club to not allow the sports washing display. Nothing about it is untrue, nor is anything about it offensive. It’s a fair statement that should be seen and heard about their ownership, and we live in a country that allows free speech, why can’t we use it here for something that’s true and not offensive? Apologies for the long post and don’t want to be negative as i really love the team we’ve assembled but really disappointed with how this has turned out.
People on about binning their association with the club over this, don't really understand fcukwittery such as this, especially in light of where we were only a few years back.
Pretty much sums it up. If someone organised something better to make the point I’d be all for that but as a NS STH I want to make some kind of point. Sat through all those years of crap, support never wavered and yet treated like this. If nobody moves or starts it I won’t do anything either but if it happens I’m going to be part of it.
The ownership group , since they did takeover, certainly know how to alienate their Customers. The Club shop, the ticket office and even the season card debacle to name but a few without the playing side problems.
It’s sad to think that after a mag has sat in your own personal seat that you will never return to the SOL again, you will be sorely missed.
The playing side problems? We got in the playoffs with a newly promoted team of kids and currently are sat there again. What problems are you alluding to here? Absolutely the off field and fan liaison side is appalling.
The recruitment thats took us from a midtable league one team to a promotion pushing championship team in 3 years? Christ.
The recruitment that has half the team linked with the PL? I mean the strikers haven’t come good yet but we signed 4? Recruitment has been outstanding.
