I don’t know anything about him so he’s a clean slate for me. Gets the same welcome as any manager. Just could be a very hard act to follow from Dodds but there are rumours of the new guy being in charge today but that’s perhaps because of that situation.
Like many I’m not overjoyed at Beale but I think it’s a bit like planning a foreign holiday and then being told you have to stay in Blighty. Initially disappointing but can still have a great time. On talk of his ego, guy’s moved very quickly into a job with very high expectations and had a reality check. I hope that gives him a little more humility which, to have his reputation as a coach, he must have an ability to connect and communicate with players. On the club, they seem very capable on player recruitment so why not on coach recruitment? I need to trust them on this one - like many I was underwhelmed with TM but he did a job for us. My football knowledge and insight is about as deep as your average puddle so I need to trust them. On a positive note he’s coming into a team that is doing well and I just hope he listens to and uses Dodds. No need for any great revolution in how we play and by what I’m reading he sets his teams up similarly to what we have. Despite having zero say or choice in the matter I’m going to be magnanimous and trust the club on this one. Give him a short term contract to end of season with option to extend. If things aren’t looking right at Easter let the contract expire, start the search again and move on.
Yeah your right Chunk, I should keep my gob shut I did say it's the first time I remember, not the first time it's happened
I thought the club had a set way to play now, why is he going to be allowed to change it. Isn’t it the whole idea a new manager has the same vision as the club or he’s not the new manager.
I can't remember many cockneys doing well up here. It's normally the northern fellas or the Irish we tend to warm to
I only remember as it was my first season ticket game with a fa cup home game and I wasn't sure what happened. As I have said I can see why people are angry, just a shame we haven't dealt with the away fans above the home fans issues before this all came about
That's a really good read. MB will certainly have a job on his hands to win over the more sceptical fans, but I think he can do it. Time will tell....
Good. I know we think we know best but taking fan's advice on big decisions is no way to run a club. Case in point, the club wanted to replace Mowbray with Farioli and the vast majority, me included, were dead against it. Looks now like we should have gone with the clubs decision and not fought it.
I don't want to get involved with the arguments Chunk, as a supporter I believe I have one job, turn up and support the team. I don't have enough factual information on the decision to locate away fans or the managerial appointment to express an opinion, so I leave it up to people who obviously have.
It might have been interesting but what a complete mess of a page that is with adverts and popups etc!
Not arguing at mate, just saying that the north stand has had big issues with people throwing things including glass bottles and as a club we haven't dealt with it which leads to issues like now. How someone hasn't been seriously injured is quite the miracle
There was a concerted campaign, by some well meaning supporters, to lure Gareth Ainsworth to Sunderland
