It’s not. We aren’t guaranteed anything other than league games, FA Cup rules on 15%. The police and SAG also have a say. The club wanted them to have the usual upstairs.
RAWA have already tried before the decision was ratified and subsequently published. It changed nothing.
I guess people will have their own interpretations of why they are doing it. I don’t expect it to change but I want to show my annoyance and hope they learn not to do it again.
Restrict them to 3k in the current away section. We’ve restricted others on safety grounds and other clubs have also done this, there isn’t a right to 15%. We are also only given the same number should there be a replay, they have a larger stadium, why aren’t we getting a greater allocation I wonder…. Because they don’t want to give it to us.
If they were above us, Fans would be complaining about things being thrown down. Police and safety officers have had their input and deemed that 6,000 can be policed safely. It seems like a cop out from a lot of our fans to decide they know better and safety is an issue. As for your point about reciprocating - that doesn't make any sense. The police have decided they can handle a 6,000 strong opposition - which you're saying is too many. How can you then argue that you think we should have more than 6,000 in a potential return game? If this wasn't Newcastle, there wouldn't be half as much uproar.
Surely the decision is based on entry and exits from the stadium, segregation etc, and will have been decided by the police based on the safest way to do things. I personally don’t understand the furore. For one game. It’s not like fans are being told they’re not guaranteed a seat. They’re just having to move. I get it’s important to people but a bit surprised by the ferocity of emotion. Especially considering it’s not something the club will have done for giggles
I couldn't book my own seat when we played Hartlepool but I didn't stomp my feet and behave like a two year old.
Group of 6 in amongst us, will they all get sat together? Probably then about another 20 in our group made up of smaller ticketing groups. All had ST for years, we are moved for Newcastle, people who have just bought a half season ticket elsewhere in the ground will get a ticket before us. We go after all the other ST holders. Everyone I’ve spoke to who sits in our stand is unhappy. Guess people elsewhere or who don’t have ST won’t be bothered.
It’s unfortunate yes. Worth disrupting the team in a league match? No. My opinion of course, and you can disagree. Do you think the club have done it on purpose? What do you think the motive is? It’s almost certainly been done as best as they can based on the factors involved.
