Does Beale have experience as a head of player development role as I don't know a great deal about him ?
Yeh, no way Beale would be coming here for anything other than head coach. He has enough credit in the bank from the QPR reign to get another go. I just really hope it’s not here. I can’t see it myself.
His record as a developmental coach is very good indeed and he could absolutely do Doddsy’s job. My reasoning: 1) He’s always been interested in coaching His playing career ended early at the age of 21. Instead of spending his savings on the usual things a 21 year old lad would, Beale decided to invest in the Brazilian Soccer Schools franchise, aiming to teach young British kids Futsal. Think five-a-side football, but played with a smaller, low-bounce ball to enhance close control and technical ability. 2) He spent 10 years coaching at Chelsea Working with Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink, he helped to develop Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham. 3) Then he went to Liverpool where he really turned heads Eighteen members of his squad made first-team debuts in the space of two years, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones. 4) THEN… he moved to Brazil become assistant at São Paulo, he learned Portuguese especially for this. He developed his coaching further working with Rogerio Ceni and coached a young Eder Militao, who ended up joining Real Madrid for over £40m. 5) Gerrard poached him and gave him all coaching responsibilities “What I'll never do is try to do someone else's job when they are better than me at doing it," Gerrard said on The Robbie Fowler Podcast 6) Another quote: “A lot of people won't have a clue what Michael Beale does on the training pitch, but what he does is really quite special," said Peter Lovenkrands 7) My opinion. He’s a fantastic coach with an impressive record in youth development. The only blot on his record is that he tried being a Head Coach with mixed results
was talking to me mate last night wouldn't give out away if he are the players have been told who it is, but the players are loving dodds at the moment and would happily have him in full time
It may just be the links to Beale or the fact that I’ve watched the West Brom and Leeds games back over the last couple of nights (yes, I’m that sad) and seen two completely different but equally effective tactical set ups against two very good coaches with good sides that has seen us utterly dominate, pretty much over 180 minutes, two rivals for the playoffs but I’m now not adverse at all to Dodds getting the gig. May be seen as a reaction to two good results but it’s not that, it’s the manner of the performance and nuance in the set up. I’m not even too concerned about losing him from the coaching role as it gives us an opportunity to poach another highly rated development coach (easier than getting a highly sought after head coach you’d have thought).
I read that earlier today and reading @Nads post about Dodds and Beale, it could be an option. Thats if Dodds wants the head coach role obviously. And if Beale doesn't want another head coach role. Or Dodds happy to keep his role and Beale becomes head coach. One thing seems certain. The days of getting useless feckers in are behind us
From what I've read, he is regarded as an excellent coach, but not head coach. I bow to people with more knowledge than me to explain further....
He's certainly got an impressive coaching CV, I'm just not sure if he is cut out for a head coach role.
That's my feeling too, but if he gets the job, he has my support. You never know, things may just click.
There are a few rumours from QPR and Rangers that his communication skills haven’t been the best Im guessing that’s from the extra pressure of the hundreds of niggly little tasks that get in the way of coaching when you become Chief I think he needs to give himself time before he tries the hot seat again. A progressive DOF setup like ours would give him time to step into the HC role now and again as Doddsy has
In my opinion Beale is a great coach and member of a back room team, hes not a head coach/manager. (Caused a massive mess at Rangers and jumped ship at QPR). I would be really disappointed if he came in to heads things up..especially if were interviewing the likes of Still etc. The lad I know at the club has no news on Beale but admin are getting ready for news to become official on a new person who ever that is.
Doesn't look like Dodds wants it yet. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ch.../sunderlands-mike-dodds-sets-out-28291529.amp
I know I'm new, wanted to post for ages haha but couldn't get the verification to work, but Nixon seems quite confident it is Thelin and I have a feeling it's gonna.be him, anyone heard anything on him?
