Yeah, I reckon I'd prefer our attack to be Cocaine Bear if it's going to be any kind of wrecked animal
Even more annoying watching this today. When he decides to try and beat 2 men, he has 3 simple pass options available. Absolutely no reason to try and beat the man there.
Nah, don't think you can blame him at all here. He is out of position due to the turnover and is still sprinting to get back in position when the striker gets the ball so is completely off balance. Just awful from Manning throughout.
Tissues to the left of me, tissues to the right. The screen is in front of me. Cor what a bloody sight!
Can't agree I'm afraid. As a CB you have show the forward out wide there, it can't be as easy as that for them to cut in and get a clear shot at goal. Not saying he should take the bulk of the blame for the goal, but for a player who we're all expecting to be playing PL football next season you have to do better than that.
It's an easy game as anyone watching from the stands, their sofa or in a bar will testify. Stills from various and video clips in slow motions further aids the critique. That said, Manning should have subtly scythed down the opposition player and Adz passed, there we are game won.
It's those fine margins though. Even without passing, he really should have hit the target (and scored) once he'd made the turn. He blazed it into Row Z.
I'm reluctant to bemoan Adarmas poor finishing/decision making given how many goals and assists he has this season. We are far too reliant on just him as it is. We need some others to be contributing more threat.
Not just that attempt, he blazed a hattrick over the bar. I go into each game thinking this'll be the one it all clicks and we'll ****ing smash 'em and go on to piss the league. So much for the beer goggles donned after the pre match mood stabilisation.
I agree he should show him out wide, but if you watch back the only reason he is unable to do so is that he has to go from a full out sprint to stopping dead because he was out of position. He almost actually falls over in an effort to slow down.
The Coventry goal sums up Saints style of play. Coventry won the ball, player ran directly towards goal, one pass to best positioned player. Shot, goal. If Saints had won the ball there, every out field player would have to have a touch before only one remotely near their goal got the ball. Result no shot no goal.
100%. He tries to get back but he deliberately avoids the opponent's legs to not trip them up. What the actual ****? It's quite clear that Manning has a lack of footballing intelligence in those key moments. Poor reading of the game.
