Bazunu Bree Stephens Bednarek New LB/Larios New CM/Aribo Smallbone/Charles Stu Armstrong/Alcaraz Edozie/Amo Stewart Adarma That's still a decent team. Plus we can out-spend the rest of the division, bar the relegated clubs. And they'll hardly be rolling in it after just one season in the Prem.
Many of your fans are like Leeds fans, having a good season but fail to see it as you’re comparing it to what Leicester and Ipswich are doing. Both Leeds and Southampton are ahead of where Burnley was this time last season. Leicester are set to be hit hard with the African Cup, three of their best players missing possibly a 4th. Ipswich are a strange one, we all keep waiting for them to crumble but they keep on going. If Ipswich slip up against Norwich then lose to us, they have Leicester up after that so all to play for. If Ipswich still have the same gap or bigger on New Year’s Day I’ll consider them virtually home and dry, I just can’t see Leicester coping with their main stars out for a month. Coventry are strong at home, they’ve kept 6 clean sheets. Teams from 3rd to 6th are very strong, I can’t see anyone dropping out the 6 places myself
Well put. A lot of our fans are being hyper critical because of Ipswich. The record points haul for a promoted team from League 1 is 88 and that was Saints in 2011/12. Ipswich are on track to absolutely smash that. Fair play to them. Of course there are things we could do better and I'm sure Leeds fans feel the same but in any other season, we'd be right in the mix for the top 2 positions.
A play off final between us would be fun too wouldn't it? Would make up for when you lot couldn't beat Carlisle over two legs in 2009
Why didn’t we manage to click against Rotherham , Huddersfield, Middlesbrough when they were all struggling. If not then ,then when. Teams have worked us out and just know one goal Saints aren’t anything special. No fear factor.
We beat Ipswich and Leicester away from home, we drew against Wednesday and Rotherham, we obviously got turned over by you guys 3-1. We got off to a terrible start with some crazy loan out system the old DOF had put into place, complete turmoil and I honestly think that cost us 9 points. If every team played to their maximum ability, I believe we have by far the most lethal front line, however it doesn’t work like that and I think anyone in the top 6 is capable of beating anyone on their day. A 10 point lead at this time of year is easy to throw away, teams start panicking about the chasing bunch, two defeats and moral drops, the top two are doing great but it doesn’t mean they can keep it up.
Well there's always two teams on the pitch, and it's a bit unrealistic to expect one of them to rollover every time just because the other one thinks they're something special.
Why do people comment on the motivation of others without reading what others have said? Baffling. Yes, we want more points, but most of us are unhappy with the tedious style of football on offer. The points would be fine if we enjoyed watching our team play. But then I guess it isn’t a spectator sport. Funny to have a Leeds fan here boasting about their attack when our team attacks like a geriatric glacier. Would you take Russell Martin?
Nobody said that. Not one person. Fantasy land whataboutism. We are boring and slow. That is a criticism of us. I don’t know another way to explain the frustration many of us feel that you can understand.
I understand the frustration that we’re currently struggling to turn possession into goal threats; and I know football is a spectator sport, but it’s not Strictly Come Dancing - you don’t get extra points for wowing the audience with style. Besides which, I find us frustrating to watch, but not boring. Playing hoof ball is boring, imo.
In spite of Russell Martin’s football philosophy. This is like being served bad food when you are hungry. It is better than no food.
I pop into all the rival forums to get a feel of the mood and how a team is playing, just my own curiosity. 95% of the time I don’t bother posting, on this occasion I did because the mood is like so many of the Leeds fans. As for our attacking lineup, in fact as for our entire midfield forward I’d not swap a single player for anyone else in this league and it’s been a long time since I’ve genuinely felt that way
Perhaps the 20 teams below us would. This is the first season for a very long time when the back of the sofa has not been used as a hiding place!! Knife juggling is now a past activity, all because we have so far got at least a point and more in 17 out of 21 games. Whatever anyone else wants to call it is their choice, my choice says it's progress I did not expect, yet.
There’s no bad food when you’re hungry, that’s exactly right. I like the fact Martin has a philosophy. The best managers have a recognisable style. And we’re a work in progress under him imo.
