I don’t want Howe out. I want him to learn and improve and get one of these big games right.

We need a good January window so we can stay in the hunt for top 4.

Loans will be fine there are plenty of players out there who could improve the squad.

Top 4 is gone mate .... the current 11 available is a championship 11 almost. The situation is going to get worse before it gets better...

As I said elsewhere, at what point does patience run out? 4 losses out of 5. If we lose to Chelsea and Sunderland, what then?

Depends but I dont see an issue right now. If I'm along with a few others right about his style of play it will be the reason he's replaced in a year or 2 unless he makes a change to his approach.

This idea he needs more and more money isn't a long term solution.

    Then, Howe out.

    CL, whatever.

League Cup, okay I'm pissed but, we move on.

League defeats? We have been relegated twice, we can all handle that.

Losing to Sunderland AGAIN, when they're in the ****ing Championship?

    Unacceptable.

Howe at some stage will go.

When? Only the Owners will know and decide. My take is that there won’t be any panic on the dance floor reaction by them. They will have a short, mid and long term plan in place. They will be continuously cross referencing to that and will act when things aren’t meeting their expectations and only when someone better is available. Mourinho is not someone better. It’s not surprising to see Villa doing well and then consider who appeared to be first choice for us as manager before EH was appointed.

Losing last night won’t, is my guess, make the slightest impact or difference whatsoever. The Owners will, again in my guess, consider the full picture and not panic over a bump in the road. They will be aware that spending £400M on a relegation bound squad is highly unlikely to change that squad into PL winners, CL winners etc. They will be fully aware of the intended impact of FFP. They will have noted when other Clubs eg Villa started their spending spree and how much other Clubs eg Chelsea, City etc are spending. They will put things into perspective and not over react. Big businesses who are successful tend not to be inclined to make panic decisions.

If we lose to Chelsea then we lose to Chelsea. If we lose to Sunderland then we lose to Sunderland. I don’t want either to happen but I’m not going to panic if both do happen. Again my guess, I think the Owners will simply see the season out, then review it against the plans already in place and then take it from there. Ultimately, football is a results based industry but it is never based on one or two results but an accumulation of results.

If last season we had finished 7th or 8th then I don’t think many would have genuinely complained but the fact we finished 4th seems to mean that for some that is the minimum expectation for this season. I doubt whether the Owners will see it that way at all.

    Very balanced I like it.

I do however think that defeats against Chelsea and the Sunderland would put the spotlight on him.

That’s all mind. There would not be a knee jerk reaction I agree.

But progress has to be made. I would be more worried if out of the next 3 PL games we don’t get 6 points.

    It's not that complicated

Lose a bunch of games and they ask questions, lose a derby, you're under pressure.

Won't be sacked the week after but might go end of season. It's ****ing embarrassing

Newcastle really are a joke to the rest of the footballing community. They're the gift that keeps on giving..finals , 12 point leads, last minute defeats, **** me they even lost in the community shield.

Howe's just going to be the next failure that ends up living in exile like Keegan.

This club will never win anything I don't think, but I fully expect to lose a few more finals than usual.

Howe is here until the end of next season at the very least so apologies to the people baying for blood here. I actually think he'll be here in 3 years still, so longer than some of our fans it seems. This season was always going to be hard as we didn't really have a squad to compete on all fronts and have ended up being spread thin and hit by injuries. That said we'll still finish top 10 and have a go in the cups. We will invest more in the Summer and if we're not in Europe next year then it will be expected that we get top 7, failing that - or silverware - he's gone.

No other manager is getting more out of half the players we have here though.

    Injuries have undone him season.
That's on Ashworth and his transfers.
