Can't see the mags match in my list of 23 upcoming events in account.

Looks like there is a beamback of the Ipswich game though

a mates messaged me, he's heard it's the police who want the full north stand it's easier to keep fans apart and easier for segregation looks like the getting the full lot hold up is the club is trying to push for just 3000 in the guards

Should never have moved the away fans from the lower bowl imo. Atmosphere is sh*te and when things like this happen it causes chaos.

My inside knowledge is the plan last season was for Leeds to get the North Stand (Upper and Lower) if we beat Fulham. it went so far as the seating design being worked out in Ticketmaster. I reckon (as it is the easy option) our incompetent operational team have just ran with that and then it has ran into issues with may be SAG and/or insurance and/or Police. I cant believe they're not getting the South Stand as it is easier to park buses there, march fans up from St Peter's metro and block off.

Stadium was designed to have the away fans in the South Stand - removable segregation in the concourse, direct access out through Sheepfolds to the train station and the Police Cells are under the stand. Was madness to move them

I can’t see how that would be easier for segregation. There is currently no segregation between the east stand and north stand lower.

What will they do chuck a barrier in between and a row of police?

Can't see how that works having them in the lower bowl because there is no segregation in the concourses or the stands. Also you have the BCB there too. Sensible thing would be to put them in the North Stand Upper and give them as many as we can fit in - as far as the NW corner and have a heavy Police presence in the stands/concourse

They can bitch and moan all they like, but we should not be moving SC holders, not endangering people just because they think they are entitled to 7,000 tickets
If they don't like it, stay home and watch it on ITV

Season card holders will always be moved for big allocation cup games. Agree that it’s silly to do it where the BCB is but we aren’t entitled to refuse tickets just because people don’t want to give up their regular seat for a cup game that their season card doesn’t even cover. Should’ve just been left in the South then take the South east corner for bigger allocations

Key meeting to decide on Newcastle United ticket allocation for FA Cup clash with Sunderland

North East authorities are due to come together for a safety advisory group meeting on Friday to finalise arrangements for what will be the first derby since 2016

Final decisions are expected to be made on Friday over the number of tickets that Newcastle United fans will get for their FA Cup clash with Sunderland.

The local rivals’ hotly-anticipated meeting at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, January 6 will be the first Tyne-Wear derby since 2016. FA Cup rules dictate that visiting supporters can receive up to 15% of the stadium and Magpies fans have been pushing for a maximum allocation that would amount to around 7,300 tickets – far more than would be the case for a league fixture.

However, given policing concerns around violence at some derby matches in the past, that allocation could be trimmed to a smaller number. Discussions have been held between the two football clubs and regional authorities since the FA Cup third round draw was made earlier this month.

Ticket allocations must be agreed by members of the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG), which it is understood will meet on Friday, December 15 to finalise details on crowd safety, travel arrangements, and other issues surrounding the lunchtime encounter. The Stadium of Light SAG includes representatives from Sunderland City Council, Northumbria Police, and the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, among other bodies.

The SAG, meetings of which are not open to the press or public, confirmed: “Discussions are ongoing between both football clubs, Northumbria Police, local authorities and transport providers, about further match and stadium arrangements. It is anticipated that decisions will be reached at the end of this week.”

Ticket pricing and details of where in the Stadium of Light the away fans will be housed are yet to be confirmed by either club.

Visiting supporters are currently located in the upper tier of the stadium’s north stand, with away fans typically having a ticket allocation of 2,000. There have been concerns from some Sunderland fans about the location of the current away end after incidents in which objects have been thrown from the upper tier.

The Newcastle United Supporters Trust recently wrote to Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner Kim McGuinness, arguing that away fans having a full 15% ticket allocation was “crucial for keeping the magic of the FA Cup alive”. She replied saying that the “maximum number of supporters should be allowed to attend” but cautioned that authorities had to be satisfied that the match can go ahead safely.

"The vast majority of fans will want to avoid a repeat of the match day violence we have seen in previous games. As such, the police, the councils and the Metro operator will all have their say on the best way to avoid putting fans at risk, while also keeping the transport system running for other passengers.”

    so hopefully news on Friday

Imagine having authority's worried that some people can't behave like humans and more like animals to the point it can't be decided how to manage the situation whereby a full stand may go to the opposition. If the game was the other way around, we'd get very little allocation and no way would they gave so much of a stand away.

Have they written to the MP yet to get it discussed in the house of commons? Only a matter of time.

Then claim it had nothing to do with us and we can't control who owns the club, only support it?
