Fair play to you for posting Fly me to the moon but I'll put you on ignore as I too can't stand references to something I'm not choosing to read. All the time. Sure you don't care and good luck to you, cheers!
Agreed. As a former user of RTG they are permanently on Defcon 1 I had to go through an anger detox to find my feet on here, learning how to reply without sounding like a tramp guarding his baccy
Right, I’m going to allow myself to show a little bit of interest in Still (I’m not quite at the watching every interview he’s ever done and knowing what he likes for breakfast stage), do his teams play good, attractive football? What stands out about his approach to coaching and games?
If you read between the carnage there are some good posts on rtg and some very knowledgeable people The reference to otr is used just as much there as here and isn't really to the detriment of either board imo
Re Phillips Bloke from Hertfordshire, signed for us 26 years ago, left 20 years ago after a cracking 6 year stint, he never really had much to do with us since. Loved him as a player, we all did,as a pundit he spouts the same ****e they all do, but unfortunately because of his time here, we zoom in on it more. I remember Quinny as a commentator never really gave us the likings of a dog on sky but that's because he didn't want to come across unprofessional when in reality he probably wanted to do the arm windmill he done in 98 in the play off final.
As far as I can tell I was banned from there ten days ago for implying Tony Mowbray was sexually aroused by Jaffa Cakes I’m glad I was, not only was that a bizarre and frankly unfair thing to say but generally the atmosphere in that place lowered my IQ by about 50 points I’ll miss a few posters but to me that place is like necking Monster energy drink or eating MacDonalds. One minute it’s great, the next you realise it’s rank
It's the same as any messageboard, you read what to want to read. Both have their positives and negatives
Im confused now, what happens if we beat the mags, they replay it on football manager & they loose that also because Will Still is really good at it....this could potentially push them one step to far over the edge...... replaying a defeat to Sunderland on football manager & winning brought back dignity
Since this has already been posted, I'll lazily copy and paste my original response (which still stands)... Switched off after the opening sentence. Not for me. I'll leave it for KLD to decide.
Watched the video in its entirety, though I honestly don't have that much interest in the thick of football tactics, really really impressed. He understands movement and patterns of play innately, he speaks well and he recognises where he isn't doing well enough before improving on it. Crazy to think in a few short years we could go from simple Simon "The thickest man on earth" Grayson to this guy. I'm really encouraged.
It's not the lack of positive things that annoys me it's that it's obvious to anyone who pays attention to SAFC that he doesn't have a clue what's going on, pays little attention to the club which us all fair enough he played for the club but doesn't need to love it! However, what I can't overlook is when he gets a call to give his opinion he doesn't admit he doesn't really have a clue so decline to comment or do half hours research before commenting!
He also, without fail, just perpetuates the narrative that sky set. Most of the pundits who are linked to clubs will defend or offer the clubs perspective. He just parrots and essentially validates whatever narrative has been set.
It's only a first impression, but in the video he comes across as intelligent, knowledgeable, and confident in his own knowledge, but he's humble enough to admit his own mistakes and is not arrogant. These, to me, are the hallmarks of someone who is genuinely very good at their job.
