After several articles recently about Ben Arfa, Ba, Best and the City game, I was interested to see what people think our best strikeforce is? We have 3 good forwards but can realistically only afford to play 2 of them together at the same time. For the purpose of the argument, ignore current form (otherwise everyone would probably choose Ba even if they prefer Best and Ben Arfa) and just choose who you think would be/is the best together.

Best and Ba - proven to be effective together, Ba plays off Best, who does all the running while Ba gets the goals and the link up is very good.

Ba and Ben Arfa - Ba plays further forward than previously for us, but can surely adapt to being the focal point of the attack and this combination teams our best goalscorer with our best playmaker.

Best and Ben Arfa - theoretical at this stage, as neither have played together for a full game, but Best is a natural number 9 and Ben Arfa is a natural playmaker, this could be very effective despite not including Ba, and we will hopefully see it during the ACoN.

    At home: Ba and Best

Away from home: Ba and HBA

Plus it depends on what team we are playing. As each game is different. Tough one.

I went for Best and Benny, because on paper, they compliment each other perfectly.

Ba and Ben Arfa for me.

Worked really well against one of the best defences in the league and their interplay carved City open a few times. That said though , Best has had a very good season , has always given his all during games and has a proven partnership with Ba.

However he's offside a few times too often and sometimes lacks that touch of class that Ben Arfa has in abundance.

In the short term it has gotta be Best and Ba, they are playing very well together.

However, I voted Ba and HBA. HBA is simply a lot better than Best, who is OK, but still quite a limited stiker. Ba and Ben Arfa linked up well a couple of times on Saturday and that was the first time they've really played together. A good sign of things to come IMO <ok>

Aye that's true, different partnerships would be better against different teams, Ba and Best would possibly be better v Stoke for example. I dont know who to pick, if you take form out of the equation there's not much separating each partnership.

I think Ba and Ben Arfa will probably win this as they are the best two players on paper, but could be a decent debate.

I'm looking forward to seeing Best and Ben Arfa but at present I'd say it's Best and Ba as they've been prolific together.

Just for Bano, I'd like to see Best and Santon (when Ba gets tired he can get 20 minutes...) <whistle>

Also agree with this. HBA is quite a luxury player, and away from home we normally press from the front quite well (Stoke being the best example), so maybe Best + Ba would be more useful in away matches.

Need more time to see Ba and Ben Arfa together, but they would probably be my choice. I'd like to see a narrow 442 diamond once we have a left back who doesn't need the defensive cover.

    Ba - Best
    Ben Arfa
    Gutierrez - Cabaye
    Tioté
Left Back - Coloccini - Taylor - Santon

I was tempted to put an option for all three as that would be very good, but as you say it isnt feasible at the moment. Could do a Christmas tree formation and have Ba and Ben Arfa both behind Best.

At the minute, Ba and Best is obviously the better option. But there will come a point where HBA will be back to his best and will be the first name down on the sheet. Ba's the better striker but Best will compliment Ben Arfa better.

    Decisions decisions <laugh>

It beats the "Who's ****ter, Shola or Lover?" argument from last season though..

HBA tore city apart one 2 occasions on sat that should've ended in goals. I think he definitley deserves a start and should start

Perhaps we could just drop Ba and Best and use Ben Arfa like Messi? <whistle>

Back then our three to choose from were Shola, Lover and Ranger... staggering how much better we are now.
