Let me see if I've got this straight: there was a punchup at a volleyball match, so now all football matches in Greece will be played behind closed doors until February?
They are showing the Arab league matches here in the USA.I'm not watching.....but then.....they do show beach volleyball and other crappy things!
And not to be outdone by their neighbours, Turkey has suspended all football. One of their club presidents punched a ref, then claimed that he only meant to slap and spit on him. That's alright then. Carry on.
Just seen the Diego Carlos elbow on Nketiah from the Villa v Arsenal game. He can put that alongside his elbow on Gil from our match. How is he getting away with it so consistently?
Just so we're clear, we're supposed to not want this sort of thing in the Premier League...? please log in to view this image
Haven’t seen a lot of the CL this season yet so thought I’d watch a bit of United vs Bayern. Bayern are a weird team. They have so much individual quality but so many similar profiles across the team especially in midfield and attack, Kane aside. Some of the positional stuff Tuchel seems to have them doing doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense either.
I think that was the worst 45 mins from Kane I've ever seen. Every shot straight at defenders every pass intercepted. Cue the second half hat-trick.
Utd are poor. Bayern have been on their winter break (mentally at least) for a fortnight. This was an opportunity for a committed team to beat them. Not that it would have actually made any difference to qualification, except for the Europa League.
I cannot recall the last time an english club finished bottom of a CL group. By this time tomorrow it may be two clubs. A big ask now on the EL participants to go far (and help maintain the UEFA nation coefficients tally for the PL) .
You're correct. 2005/06. They had a relatively weak group then, too. Villarreal, Benfica and Lille. Lots of draws and they finished bottom on H2H with Lille, I think. This is also the worst defensive performance by an English team in the group stage. 15 goals.
