Thing is, mate, Ipswich are running at 115% of wages to turnover and announced a £12.6 million loss in April for the year up to June 2022, on top of a loss of £7.7 million for the year before. And that's despite nearly doubling their turnover last season. And it doesn't count what they spent last year or so far this year. Turnover and income will have increased, but as it stands they are running very close to coming a cropper on FFP, and the EFL would happily kick them to make an example of them. Just look at what they've done with Reading and Sheffield Wednesday in recent years. Having a bit of wiggle room is fine, but we have to be careful as stuff can get out of hand very quickly.

Does that mean if PL clubs can lose X amount per season can’t remember what exactly just say it’s £105m over 3 seasons that they’re all operating at slightly above 100% though? Guess EFL rules are a bit different if your owner pledges the money up front it can be spent by the sounds of it.

edit - just found this, maybe only L1 and L2 clubs can do that.

The CFRU has remit over all the EFL’s Financial Fair Play Rules which are different depending on which Division a Club is in:

    • Championship Clubs follow Profitability and Sustainability (“P&S”) Rules which dictate what losses Clubs are permitted to incur over a rolling three-year period.
    • League One and League Two Clubs follow the Salary Cost Management Protocol (“SCMP”) These state that Clubs can only spend a fixed percentage of its revenue on player wages etc. This limit can also be added to or impacted by equity injections or net transfer spend.

Wouldn’t make any sense unless everyone else has knocked us back.

Wouldn’t be against Dodds to be fair, however it would be worth him having a few more games before hand. My worry is that when a bad spell comes, which it will as with all managers, things would become toxic quick from the fan base.

I think the ambition which the club is constantly talking about is the sticking point. Would they be patient enough to allow Dodds to develop like they would a footballer? Who knows.

Nobody has a clue who it's going to be, I don't think the owners would make a decision just on him winning 2 games

Just my opinion but the comments from KLD and Speakman on Mowbrays departure about ambition and performance mean appointing Dodds even to the end of the season would be a difficult one to take. For me they have to get their man now, not in the summer. It is the only way the statements made stand up to scrutiny.

Yes I agree. Whilst I personally wouldn’t be against Dodds, ambition was the word used to ‘hide’ (for lack of a better word) behind for the Mowbray sacking. The majority will expect a bigger name coach coming in.

Tbf there is no news story or out which is very rare. Even third party information etc. Only news story has been the hellberg one in Sweden.

Perhaps that's why to me it feels naturally as if their giving dodds a trial before making the call

All that shows us is that the club are conducting this in the right way. It won’t be Dodds.

If we have a good performance tomorrow night and Dodds has interviewed the best during the process, I’d have no qualms about him being our next manager. Yes, it’s two results but it’s two results with this team and not an unknown quantity, per se.

P.S. how do you change usernames on here ffs? lol

If we were to give Dodds a two game trial to prove he is up for the job it would go completely against how we seem to go about our business since KLD took over.

Tbf that sky sports bloke (was he a producer or presenter) not sure?!?!?. Surely he'll have only have tweeted that if the people around him at sky are talking about it.
If we do get Still it'll be a good news report for sky to do
