I'd not be surprised he's come out fighting with the view of a incensed Scott wanting a trigger pulled. The gloves are off.
No, I don’t think he is. He specifically said the next windows “have to be a million times better than they have been the last couple of windows” and AS was in charge of the last two windows. Seems a pretty direct criticism of AS to me. And fair play to him to lay the blame where it should be laid.
He saw what happened to Dean Holden when he had injuries and still took the job. These conversations should be held in private, and should have been held before performances went down the plughole. Without Alfie we'd be in the basement.
Appleton was very lucky that just as he took over from the sacked Holden, key players were coming back from injury. Had they not been, then he would have only achieved the same levels of failure as Holden did towards the end of his time. Now that Appleton is facing some of the same issues (weak squad, key players injured, crap loan signings, having to play the kids) he has the same problems. Still never mind eh ? Just remember; We might have multiple multi-billionaire owners who might be far richer than that c*nt Sandgaard We have a top four budget We’ll bring in 5 or 6 Championship standard players in January We have a professional SMT Our Xg is really, really good This is a 3 season project So, let’s not panic. Let’s see where we are next September………..
i can't see us signing anyone if we drop even further behind a top 6 spot. what's the point... just spending wages to fulfil fixtures. we wont go down. biggest problem is that Andy Scott looks and talks like a BS'er...not been impressed with him
Off the top of my head he was only involved in a January and August window then was outed in October.
One thing is for certain - the cost of our management structure has gone through the roof. All very good and necessary if it brings improvements on the pitch, but so far can anyone see those improvements ? We are exactly where we finished last season and if it hadn’t been for a player who was signed before the takeover, we would be languishing firmly in the bottom half of the table, possibly even in a relegation battle. As attendances and revenue continue to fall and costs go up to pay for our SMT, spending on players will only go one way. I predict that we will lose at least CBT in this window and replace him with a cheaper kid or a loan. We could even lose Dobbo and do the same.
I reckon we could just about survive the loss of CBT, with a change of formation, but without Dobbo we're in trouble. I expect him to see out his contract then see how the land lies.
