He's never managed outside of Norway in a three decade career. I'm surprised he would be a candidate we would look at.
I'm a little surprised we haven't appointed a new coach by now. When they decided to pull the trigger on Mowbray, I assumed they are "on the ball enough" to have lined up a suitable replacement. It seem we are going through a bunch of interviews and relying on Dodds to get us through these couple of games. I wonder if West Brom give us a good turning over would that have expedited the process or would they have stuck with their program. I now feel they have bought a little time with Saturdays result.....hope i'm wrong, we need a manager/coach in here ASAP...Jan window coming up soon, the new guy needs to see what he is working with. Lots to do, little time to do it in.
The coach coming in has nothing to do with transfers tho they will have already identified players they want imo.
The recruitment is going fine. No rush Everything is ticking over nicely I trust them to get the right man and get the best deal for the club
They’ll say nowt until the Leeds match is out the way but that doesn’t stop me refreshing every source I can think of
Even if its announced today, I'd expect the new coach to only be in the stands tomorrow. My money is on a Wednesday announcement at the earliest with the coach in the dug out Saturday. Guess this is where the backroom system shows its real worth as the actual disruption is minimal apart from minor tweaks whilst we wait for the coach they really want to sign up
I don't expect you to divulge anything but it certainly seems to be a sacking as a reaction to more than just the on the pitch performances and results (although they were playing poorly in his last 3 or 4!).
Still surprised he didn't go after it all went off after the Huddlesfield game. Millwall really did seem like a game too far.
Feel that Tony was only ever supposed to be a stop gap, and his over achievement last season (who honestly expected us to get into the playoffs last season at the beginning) meant the board couldn't replace him in the summer as originally planned. His drop in performance and whatever, may have, happened behind the scenes, just gave them the reason they needed to change things. ........ But honestly, I don't care now. I liked tony, he's obviously a great man manager, but what's done is done. Speculating on what may have happened, spreading rumours based on itk information which cannot and will never be confirmed is pointless There is a thread specifically about TM for those who want to chat about him. Can we keep this one for speculation on the future? (This is not aimed at anyone in particular)
