I stay till the end regardless of the score, I only used to leave early if I was on night shift. Anyway, great result yesterday after a hitty missy first half, but the diabolical decision to chalk off the goal didn’t help matters. Second half was a massive improvement and back to the quick thinking passing and movement of our best previous displays. Pritchard was mint when he came on and got two quality assists. Everyone played their part in a deserved win.
I thought it was a inch perfect cross and header . They are a very good counter attacking team at full strength, fortunately we bossed that second half and got our just reward, great performance all round, and really should have been a 3-1 scoreline .
I said the same at the match but watching the full game last night I thought "discretion is the better part of valour", how they didn't break Jack Clarke's ankle I'll never know.
Seen the slow mo replay and Clarke pulled out just at the right second otherwise that would’ve been a nasty one.
The ball travelled a long way after Clarke kicked it just before he was clattered. It happened the other side of the pitch to where we sit but I said they have done him as soon as it happened. The elbow on Pritchard was a sending off, poor little bugger ended up with a fat lip.
Left Stoke early last season. Fed up with a gutless display and when Coleman was boss left Aston Villa at HT, but apart from that, like you it's always to the bitter end.
Yeah he done really well to get out of the way it I thought he’d taken the full force of it at first then after seeing the replay thought he might’ve got his studs caught in the turf pulling out. A lot of talk about Ballards tackle and rightly so because it was a shocker but the last 20 minutes they just started trying to injure players and none of that being mentioned. Kipre elbowed Roberts on the other side of the pitch and ref waved play on then went back to book him iirc. The one on Pritchard was awful the dirty c*nt had a look over his shoulder knew exactly what he was doing.
Even though Dan Neils goal was an absolute gem (as was Ballards by the way) did anybody look to the ref or lineman first to see if it was going to stand. Incompetent officials and incompetent VAR users have took some of the passion away from the game in my opinion. Fk me in the good old days I would have been about 30 yards further forward down the Fulwell end somehow miraculously missing every barrier jumping up and down like a wailing banshee before somehow returning to the place you started once the insane celebrations had ended.
Dan Neil looked at the linesman as he went through. I was sat directly in line and he was clear onside so was expecting the flag to go up. That linesman in particular (East Stand side) was a complete waste of space, refusing to give any decisions that the referee didn't first authorise
Nowadays, I only leave early if I have a gig that’s so far away I need to get there. Hour to set up etc. even then I blame “traffic” and start a bit later half the time!! Was working yesterday lunch time (I manage ambulance wait times on weekends 8 till 2 overtime . Volunteered fir it before the Kick off moved!). Watched on sky go in the background though as it was a quiet shift by all accounts
One thing I will say that bugged me yesterday is that it’s f*cking embarrassing of certain fans to be singing to Maja whilst he walked off the pitch in tears - especially now we know a lot more of the circumstances and previous ownership. Where I sit there’s quite a fair few who have an unhealthy obsession with any ex player or manager and feel the need to ignore the football and just scream at them for 90 minutes
Aye, the WBA lad pulled Mayenda back. Wonder if he got a card after the event? Was too busy celebrating to notice. Goal of the month right there - not hard to better November's minging collection where even O9's goal line hoof was included
Watched second half on Sky, footballer doing the commentary immediately called out O9's positioning for the goal conceded. Not raising this as a dig at O9, more that maybe those criticising him for this instance perhaps have a valid argument instead of an agenda as some like to say.
Why am I seeing Dan Neil criticism on twitter? Thought he was outstanding yesterday. Ekwah getting pelters aswell but I thought it was his best game since Southampton. Why can't the fanbase just enjoy a win.
