Work Christmas do in Cardiff tomorrow night, no doubt will be as **** as they always are. Already dreading it, I plan to sack it off to my room around midnight and try to get a decent sleep. Meeting point is The Great Western @luvgonzo , could it get any more ****?!?

I don't know any good pubs in Cardiff, MPW is good for Christmas vibes and cocktails if you want to escape the bar there is nice.
Very, her accent grates actually. A harsh Cardiffesque one, not as soft as the valleys or Swansea. She just left. "See ya tomorrow at the Great Western ........" Yeah, I'll bet you will.
The Brown's bar in the hotel is an improvement on the old Marriott bar. £7.50 for a Cali Pale though! Where is MPW? Assumed they'd all shut, the one in Swansea did. Great Western soon, joy! Or should that be, Joyeux.
It's in the Hotel Indigo just off Greyfriars Rd by the Capitol Tower. They usually have someone playing Christmas tunes quietly and it's just a chilled place.
Having a revive in my room seven pints in. Haven't even had food yet. The Spoons was great but ultimately did my ****ing head in. Downstairs for food, drink some (probably ****e) red wine, couple of G&T's and bed before midnight. Then a crap nights sleep. There are ten or so of 'my' colleagues already can't say their own names.
