Need to give the lads weve signed a chance, cant just get rid after a few months. Lets see what the new manager can get out of these lads, the service into them has been really poor this season
Can we see one of them have a proper chance created for them and one of the permanent ones start multiple games in a row before we write them off?
Do you honestly see a decent player in any of them 4. I cant, and we need a striker who can hold the ball up for a start. I get we are not given them lots of chances, but ffs Milton Nunez would have scored at some point.
You ruined your argument by mentioning Nunez lol Rusyn will be a player for us, seen enough of him to be confident he will score goals for us once he adapts to the league Mayenda n hemir both have something about them but still too early to judge We all want players to make an instant impact but sometimes players just need time to adapt n settle into the club before they show their best form
Rusyn has shown something. I think we have a player there to be honest. I think we need to be patient with him though. Massive upheaval for him I suspect. Mayenda and Hemir look like ones for the future, not now. I wouldnt give up on either, but they both have to make it happen for themselves. I look at Hemir in particular and think he has to want it more than he seems to and I wonder if the physicality might be something he doesnt cope with. It would be an easy enough thing to do, in my opinion, to buy a striker that would come in and make an impact immediately. We dont seem to want to do that though otherwise we would have done it. We really did only bring in Rusyn of any note in the summer, big risk, and injuries so far seem to be holding hik back, along with what seem to be struggling settling. It will be intereating if they perservere for the second half of the season with what they have, or decide to invest. I would suggest investing personally, and biting the bullet a bit on the profile they like. Alternatively they cash in on Clarke now and invest in a couple of new lads and commit to a more balanced front 3.
It's OK looking to the future, but if you want to compete and move up to the next level, you need a striker who can provide 18 to 22 goals in a season. We need a striker now, not one in the future.
I get that but lets see what a new manager can get out of these players Its so hard to find someone to come in and score that number of goals without spending big big money. Id rather we develop a player if they have high upside, not sure on how high the upside is on hemir n mayenda just yet Lets see how they develop over the rest of this season and with a new manager For what its worth i still think the recruitment team will be looking to sign another striker in January n potential send Hemir out on loan
Of course football is result driven but we cant just focus on short term success. The only way we will ever be able to compete consistently is by planning med to longer term while having a strong team. We havd a strong team now imo, yes theres a few areas we need to improve but we are going in the right directoon
I'm sick of doing it on here so I won't but I have provided multiple data points and multiple pieces of video evidence that Mayenda can hold the ball up when he's actually given the ball. No striker in world football scores goals in the team and system we've been playing this season
To see how good the strikers are, you need to create chances in the box. If Clarke, Roberts or whoever can do that, then we'll see how good they are
Nixon is heavily connected in the north west of england and has been digging at our recruitment these last couple of years. Makes me wonder if Mowbray was his source. Tony does seem the kind who's such a nice guy that he'd be mates with everyone. And Nixon was one of those fuming at the sacking
Nixon has some nerve to dig at Speakman for his my way or the highway philosophy considering he blocks anyone who dares to doubt his stories
Talking about strikers, (and apologies if mentioned before), but apparently our decision to see Stewart was a good one https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/r...palmer-reacts-as-southampton-setback-revealed Out until next year now if that article is right
Basing this in nothing but my own thoughts but I reckon without the injury he would still be here on a 3 or 4 year contract. Club made the right decision imo, still gutted it happened and he went though. His workrate was great to watch and 10 goals on just 13 appearances was some return for his first try at this level!
