I hope we can learn from this performance and have a real go at the Losers Cup next year. Looking forward to it.
The thing is, last nights team was about as good as we could have put out with the injuries we have. I don’t blame Appleton or the team. We just haven’t got many top quality players for the level we are playing in.
I'm quite concerned about the lack of progress of our youngsters under Appleton. Ness, Assimwe, Anderson, even Leaburn all seem to be going backwards.
They’ve been put under too much pressure too early due to our lack of quality signings last January and this summer. The first three are just not ready for League 1 football week in week out and Miles definitely seemed to be under some sort of cloud in his last few appearances. Had he been told he would be free to leave in January ? With the warning “just make sure you don’t get injured before then” ringing in his ears ?
