Indeed. According to article 19 of the new treaty we've signed with them, the UK is now obliged to accept asylum seekers from Rwanda. Presumably people who have fled to that country from other places in Africa or the Middle East. So at least those deportation planes won't have to fly back to the UK empty. Nice one Mr Cleverly Rishi Sunak yesterday in the Commons refused to say how many asylum seekers would be coming to the UK from Rwanda.
A polite request; This thread was orignally created during the Pandemic I think, as a little haven of happy tales and anecdotes when we were surrounded by gloom & doom on all other news fronts (as we are again today). Granted, it is more usually added to now when Palarse or Millwall lose games - something that does always make Charlton fans happy of course, so fair enough. But can it be reserved for snippets that would be expected to make pretty much any member who reads it happier? Nice news if you like. Fluffy things or tales that make us feel better about ourselves? Things that might restore a little of our faith in Human nature? I don't think the ongoing saga about deporting migrants to Central Africa qualifies as having universal heart-warming appeal. If we can keep the politics in the political threads I would be ever so grateful By the way, the misfortunes of Palarse & Millwall are definitely still welcome
In fact it’s worthy of a post on this thread…… Charlton Not606 has the best leader and moderator in the land
Palace may look safe, but once the bottom sides start to fight, as one or two always do, they could easily slip into a relegation battle. I rate them as dark horses for the drop.
