Home game, against a team struggling as much as us.

We have to win this, and then Bournemouth, and keep hanging on in there.

    Desperately.

Anyone not trying from the last game shouldn't play. Although I'm fairly certain a local hero on £350k a week still will.

    Don't wish to labour the point that he should pick his own signings where possible but, my team would be;

    Onana
    AWB
    Maguire
    Shaw
    Reguillon
    Amrabat
    Mainoo
    Bruno
    Garnacho
    Hojlund
    Antony

Subs; Varane, Mount (if fit), Pellistri, McTominay, The Turkish keeper, Dalot (reluctantly), Lindelof, Eriksen (if fit), Gore, Diallo, Mejbri

On Dalot, can't fault his effort. He's just a very poor defender.

We all know the issues with Rashford, and if you watch McTominay closely you'll realise he disappears/hides for large spells in the game.

That's why I dig him out.

A central midfielder should be available to accept and move the ball on at all times. He should be on the shoulder of his team mate or in space, not hiding behind an opponent.

On that point, I read somewhere some criticism of Maguire this week about his positioning making it difficult for Onana to pass the ball out anywhere other than the wings. Out of interest I watched the Newcastle game again and they were right - Maguire, more often than not when Onana has the ball, moved into space too close to a newcastle player for Onana to make a safe pass, he did it time and time again leaving Onana with Shaw as his only outlet through the middle of the park. I'm going to watch tonight's game for the same ploy.

Good to see Shaw back on the touchline and Rashford on the bench

Trouble is Shaw links up so well with Rasford but hasn't played enough with Garnacho to form the same link.
Good to see Rashford dropped to the bench though.

    Would've preferred AWB at RB.

I'll accept McT for now. Maybe Mainoo with Amrabat would've been better it's hard to tell.

Yeh but if McTominay disappears as usual then all the pressure piles on Amrabat. He then looks poor.

When he played that one game next to Casemiro he played well.

I don't think the players we have available make it any easier for Amrabat coming into the PL.

Amrabat + Mainoo needs to be tried at some point...soon.

And there goes Bruno again with his back heel flicks. Loses possession which we had comfortably. Inside 1 minute.

Not sure why McCoist is questioning it, looks clear enough to me.

    Yep. Given.

    Good start by us.

But it helps that Chelsea look nervous.

That really was a **** pen.

They looked nervous, I just hope that doesn't raise their confidence.

    Oh and that we score!

It's funny that when we're starting to play well in a game our finishing has turned to **** <laugh>

    Could've scored 3+ by now.
