Looks like we shouldn't have too much trouble turning £5m spent in summer on an U21 into a healthy profit.

Trouble with KLPs, Greaves's and Bowen's you don't really know you have them until they reveal themselves in the first team - but Vaughan, Covil and Sandat are highly rated.

Then you have some younger ones playing above their age level.

Surprised Vaughan hasn’t been getting more game time. He’d have brought perfect energy into the side when we’ve been flat several times this season. Has he been injured?

Yeah, had a couple of niggles so been in and out of the squad a bit. He's in that hinterland as too good for the 21s but a bit lightweight to get in front of more established players in the first team.

Loan in Jan I reckon. Ideally a L1 side that likes to play a bit.

Probs the same for Andy Smith.

Forgot to add, Olly Green has been impressive for York in national league. He can't be much older than 20.

We’ve got an outstanding goalie at every single level from 8-18
All will play for England one day guaranteed

Even the French and Welsh ones.

    Yes, they're that good.

I genuinely believe Twine is not as good as Pelkas when it comes to actual ability and is neither better nor worse than Pelkas when it comes to impacting games. His work ethic is probably his strongest attribute and he’d stand out in a team like Rotherham or Wednesday but he’s not a £4 million player so long as I’ve got a hole in my arse.

He’s not ****e but he is a very average footballer in this division. His first touch, his decision-making, his vision, passing range etc. is bottom-half Championship level.

    His fee wasn't 4m.

We offered 2.5. Burnley offered a smidge over and offered a better contract.

If Burnley want to keep him they will.

If not then it won't be more than 2.5 on current showing.

It was reported as a £4m fee pretty much everywhere.

I kind of agree, but Twine, much as I loathe the diving, cheating little toe rag. Does have decent touch, ball skills, has a good head and a good eye for a run or a pass and is just coming a bit short with the fine margins of the final ball, whether that’s playing someone in or taking the shot. It’s his first proper season at this level and there is every chance he could become a top player at this level.

If we signed him on a permanent I reckon he’d stop being a diving, cheating little rapscallion as well.

I also said the same about Pelkas, he was just coming short a lot of the time. I would have been neither surprised nor disappointed if he had stayed here this season.

Rocco Coyle is really good. Ashbee’s lad will have a career in the game, Alfie Taylor another one that’s good. Dawson’s lad is also doing really well for the u18s he’s got something like 15 goals from midfield this season

Was just about to comment Rocco. Every u21 game I've been to he has been in total control of the midfield.

I think Twine will come good, sometimes just takes longer than expected.

I wouldn't call KLP and Greaves promising youth talents anymore.
And besides we've already sold KLP, and Greaves is playing in our first team.
    Keep up AY.

They were clearly examples of promising youth players that turned into first team players.

Rocco Coyle I think will be the next player breaking through because, as has been said, he’s a younger, all action midfielder in the Slater mould. Tyrell Sellars-Fleming (Bob to his mates) is also developing really well and has appeared on the bench for the first team a couple of times.

Alfie Taylor had Leicester after him in the Summer, he needs a better loan in January and he’s another one that could break through this season.

But given the players in CM, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rocco given a go in the FA Cup, even if it’s just 5 mins at the end.

Yeah Rocco is excellent. Everything Rosenior wants in a midfielder too. Doesn’t play u18s anymore now..
