Keepers come on for penalty shootouts when there's a break in play which allows for subs, or in the last moments of extra time when it's heading for pens - but it's up to the officials when subs can be made during the game. You can't have someone stripped and warming up for 90 mins to chuck on at a moments notice - even if the officials would let you make the sub in that limited a timeframe. It's not how the game works. Dipshit.
So, there was a break in play when the penalty was awarded... Tufan and Slater came on at 64 minutes... are you telling me they were not ready to come on and it was not LR intention to imminently make the change before the penalty was awarded... But down worry, you got your like for your post...
Close to 100 posts on a missed penalty and who should or shouldn't have taken it, and it's only Tuesday. Slow news week?
Who knows who practices penalties for City? I can tell that Kane practices penalties. I'm not "desperately looking for someone to blame" I know who to blame - Rosenior If I was manager I would ask who wants to take penalties Then get those people to practice 10 penalties every day of training. There would be discussions afterwards as to how they can improve. Then I would decide who is best. I would have my top 5 penalty takers selected and they would know who they were. I'd have my next 5 listed if none of the first 5 was on the pitch and I would pass the message to the captain. Anybody with a philosophy of "**** happens" doesnt deserve to be making decisions.
1 in 4.pens are missed regardless.. You're looking to point the finger when you have no idea yourself who's been taking them in training. For all we know Jaden was second in line behind Tufan so should have taken it with him not on the pitch. You make the best decision you can. After that, some still get missed. That's just a fact of life not a '**** happens' philosophy.
If they werent stripped and on the touchline at the point it was awarded, and the note passed to the 4th official with the numbers already punched into his board, then they weren't ready to come on. Its fairly obvious that if they could have got Tufan in to take it, then they would have. It's pretty simple really. Maybe should have Mystic Meg in the dugout for future such occasions.
Jaden didnt give the impression that he'd been practising penalties. Matt Le Tissier and Harry Kane give the impression they practised. Even Harry Maquire looks like he practices penalties even though he's not his club's penalty taker. That penalties get missed is down to bad preparation. **** doesnt seem to happen with good penalty takers. https://www.uefa.com/news/020c-0e85b066e11e-c73c9f058580-1000--masters-from-the-penalty-spot/
Every pen taker misses from time to time. You show me someone with a 100% career record. Lambo produced the 1 in 4 stat. So Obvs by your thinking 1 in 4 are down to bad preparation, even when it's the same player and preparation of someone who usually scores? Just get over it. He'll likely bag the next one.
Someone, somewhere has missed a lot of penalties in that 12 minutes between your post to go from 1 in 5 or 6 to 1 in 4 so quickly.
"Ivan Krstanović (Croatia, 2000-present) The GNK Dinamo Zagreb forward has by all accounts never missed a penalty in his career, assuring UEFA.com that "it's at least 30 goals". After scoring in a 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw against FC Dynamo Kyiv last season, he said: "Everyone keeps asking me to reveal my secret but, if I told everyone my technique it wouldn't be a secret any more, would it?"" Lambert had bad preparations? Yes. He missed penalties for previous clubs then started to prepare well and scored 32 consecutively.
You got that from ghanaweb, which is about as accurate as a Southgate penalty, he's actually missed six penalties.
I guessed 1 in 5/6. Lambo posted the more authoritative 1 in 4 stat within that 12 minutes so I went with that. Either way, a significant proportion of all pens are missed, despite my being more generous than the reality.
The link says UEFA https://www.uefa.com/news/020c-0e85b066e11e-c73c9f058580-1000--masters-from-the-penalty-spot/ Ghanaweb got that from UEFA - they even admitted it.
Did you see the number of people in the link who took good penalties every tiime? I would expect it's because of good preparation rather than expecting **** to happen.
