please spare me the holier than thou routine cc , you have been chastised by others for your attitude in recent weeks so clearly it is starting to irritate others on here ,

my harmless use of the word patriotic is nothing more than that --- harmless , i use it on occasion on here as a form of light hearted banter on here because of the obvious bias towards the english drivers on an english based forum --
as i said i see it as light hearted banter to inject a little much needed humour on here
    --- nothing more

as for button " not being aware of the relevent details " how can he possibly not be aware of what lap his KERS went belly up --
he is one the best drivers in the world with a finely tuned awareness of everything that is going on in his car when he is driving it , how can he possibly not know on what lap he pressed his KERS button and he ceased to have the 80 BHP benefit,

button himself has said it was lap 12 -- i have no reason to believe he is not being honest about it -

But you use it in a condescending manner an on occasion where you wish to make out the poster is bening biased purely becuase a Brit is involved.

    Not really 'harmless banter'.

I do not that you ralwyas go back to referring to previous posts as 'hamrless banter' when you beleive you have irked another poster. Almost as if this was you sole intention and having acheived that, you sit back with a big smug grin and try to make out you were just having a bit of fun.

If you beleive that is humuor, then maybe you misunderstand 'British' humour?

you have not explained how i have insulted you RI -- you came on here to disagree with me about my topic and my opinion on alonso and button ,
i then politely gave you my own opinion of button / canada and why i disagree with your opinion ,

lo and behold because you are unable to counter my view for some unfathomable reason this seems to have upset you so much so you accuse me of insulting you --
you then scrape the bottom of the barrel and then drag up personal comments about myself on a forum that died 6 months ago and other assorted sillyness -

as i said -i did not twist your arm to post to me in the first place you did it because you did not agree with my topic or my opinion on alonso , and thats fair enough i dont expect or want everybody to agree with me on here as that is the very nature anf life blood of a debating forum ,

what exactly is it that i have done to bring forth your emotional outburst in your belief that i have insulted you when all i have done is disagree with your opinion on button / canada ,because quite frankly i am at a loss to know what it is -

there you go again saint -- interfering in other peoples little disagrements on here , why do you insist on doing it instead of debating formula 1 as i have allways tried to do with you on here ,
we dont allways agree on formula i matters and i suspect this trend will carry on but lets not get into this futile nonesense of interfering in other peoples little non related to F1 squabbles on here --

i have to agree with you forza - it beggars belief that massa is still somehow traumatized because of an accident that happened over 2 yrs ago ,

lets look at it logically -- when on the odd occasion he has matched alonso on the track or beaten him in qualifying is he still traumatized whilst he has been doing this , i think we can safely say that anybody that can go quicker than alonso in qualifying is certainly not traumatized whilst they are doing it ,

then lo and behold when the tables are turned and alonso is quicker than massa all of a sudden he is mysteriously traumatized again -- i am afraid as a logical person this does not wash with me -

fair play to massa he has never used his accident as an excuse in fact he has stated the accident did not effect him - i am not sure how much more conclusive it can be when it comes strait from the horses mouth so to speak --

Was I not part of this from the start!? I didn't realise I had dropped out of this public conversation!

This is the way you always go Xig. You start off by defending your posts as harmless banter, you then accuse people of drinking, then you accuse them of interferring! It's the same old story.

What allows you to be ringmaster and therefore dictate who can and who cannot respond to any of your posts?
Is their an oppressed country missing their dictator at the moment!?

A rally in the hills of Scotland, not racing mind, just watching / taking pictures / mingling in the paddock.

Well - Merkel seems to be saying Nein Nein Nein ( rather like De Gaulle who said Non Non Non).

pressing this delapetated old keyboard and having the wife"s cat attach itself to my slipper has been the height of my excitement for the last couple of days --

Holier than thou? This coming from someone who's catch-phrase is 'Lo and behold'?… !

If you look at almost any thread you've contributed to,
Xiggly; it is you who is irritating people. Your frequent cry of 'it's only a harmless bit of fun' doesn't wash more than once. And recognising that others may see it differently is the common courtesy of respect. Instead; you insult people. That isn't 'a harmless bit of fun' if people do not think it is a harmless but of fun, regardless of your intention. You have only to read this thread to see that. You are dismissive of every person who does not agree with you. That is not respectful. It is boringly predictable and plain rude.

Please, try taking this in without arguing and without first thinking of your next attack. I assure you I am not intending to be rude. I like you; I respect you; and I believe you have a lot to offer any forum. But the time has come. I believe this needs to be said:
You seem to delight in irking others. You are argumentative, condescending; patronizing and xenophobic (or at least are happy to pretend to be). This is not 'debate'. In the vernacular, it is pure 'WUMmery'. You claimed that you had changed your ways from the days of BBC606 but I find myself wondering if you cannot resist an innate tendency to not get along with people.

I actively encouraged others to go hunting for you after the closure of the BBC site. I countered the accusations levelled at you by the many who objected. I thought you'd make life interesting; and of course, I hoped it would be in a positive way.
A proper exchange of views requires respect from all parties. By all means disagree; but how about trying being nice with it?! You don't have to be antagonistic to make your point, bud.

I refer you to WestCoastBoogaloo's signature:

The purpose of a forum is not to argue, but rather to gain new knowledge through sharing with others.

    W
hy not try - just for fun - to find something you agree with, and say so, just to cheer us all up eh?
    :)

what do you seriously get out of this saint -

i have been nothing but civil to you ever since i joined the forum and very likely because we dont allways agree on F1 related matters and our opinions on the english drivers are different for some unfathomable reason you have now got yourself all bent out of shape about my harmless banter and the use of the word patriotic i use with other people on here ,

why dont you just talk formula 1 like i and most of the others do on here instead of bothering about other peoples little minor squabbles on here ---

But suggesting other posters of their responses being influence by drinking is F1 related? Seems more of a slur on that person to be honest.

If anyone has dragged this off topic and into non-F1 related posting, it is yourself.

oh dear here we go again -

first of all your moan about my harmless use of the word patriotic on here , you now moan because i use the words " lo and behold" this is exactly the kind of microscopic nit picking that does nothing for the harmony on here --

we can all find fault with others on here and there choice of words and there style of posting but nobody else does find fault with such trivia like that except you ,
what do you seriously get from such microscopic nit picking that causes disharmony every time you do it -

there are certain aspects of your style of posting i find irritating but for the sake of the harmony on the forum i button my lip
---- please show me the same respect -

as for my style of debating on here , if i dont agree with people or i can see a flaw in there logic whilst debating F1 with them what do you expect me to do --- just agree with them for the sake of agreeing -

the very lifeblood of a debating forum is thrashing out differences of opinions not pathetically agreeing with people just for the sake of doing it , and if people see flaws in the opinions of others it is acceptable behaviour on a chat forum to disagree with people ,

as i said nobody is perfect and we all have a different way and a style of debating on here and i am tolerant of your style and other peoples -
--- for the sake of harmony show me the same respect --

lets have it right saint -- you were the one that started this nonsense yesterday ,

we were having a civilised debate about massa , karl wend , ( cant spell his name ) alonso and other formula 1 related matters whilst being relatively polite to each other when you suddenly decided to spit your dummy out with unrelated crap " same old xig " bbc 606 , blah blah blah " with then ruined the polite debate we were having -
--- why would you do that in the first place saint -

for the sake of future smooth relations between us just stick to formula 1 when debating with me and we will get along like a house on fire --
