Hopefully someone like Will Still at Stade de Reims, 31yr old head coach Belgium born to British parents and speaks fluid French.
not surprised tbh he wasn’t using all the tools he was giving and constantly moaning about the options. Lost count on how many times he mentioned the inexperience and age but that’s what he’s ment to be good with working with.
I disagree with that. If we had someone that the club were confident could really progress us in the medium to long term and had a high ceiling in terms of their own development but had just had the run that Mowbray had been on then I don’t think they’d have been sacked now. With Mowbray though, everyone knows his limitations and that he can only take us so far, his sacking is as much about progressing and improving as a club as it is a reaction to recent form and results. Actually I disagree with pretty much the whole post but the other points have been countered a number of times before.
Very weird statement this and strikes me as coming from someone that doesn't know how football works in the current day and age. First of all, we don't employ a manager we employ a head coach. Different roles. Secondly, how do you know who is queuing up for the job? 'Poor salary' yet multiple important players have signed new deals in the recent months. Most successful clubs have a system where the head coach does not have a big say in transfers, Mowbray confirmed himself he was involved but employing a manager and giving him full say in transfers is a disaster waiting to happen and one that has happened at this club on multiple occasions. Giving a manager free reign leads to needing mass overhaul in the coaching staff and playing staff departments every time you need to appoint a new manager. Look at the dross Moyes brought in, look at how the players Big Sam brought in acted after he left. Mowbray did a better job here where he had less say in transfers than he did at Blackburn where he had more say.
As your lad has mentioned previously, what we’re doing as a club hasn’t gone unnoticed in European (and world?) football circles. There’ll be plenty of ambitious, very capable coaches who will want a part of it. We’ll be paying them well for the pleasure too.
Playing catch up, so may have already been answered / discussed. I'm not buying that Burstow and others have ran to Speakman about the head coach and that's quickened the decision. There where rumours of this when Neil snaked off and look what happened in the next game. Rumours like this don't help anyone, least of all the player that's been named (Burstow I believe)
Shame about Mowbray. Like others I listened to him after Millwall and when he said he hoped the younger players thought they had improved under his guidance I thought it was goodbye. Him stuffing his face at press conferences annoyed me. He certainly was an upgrade on the previous few managers. Let’s hope the next guy improves us further. Onwards and upwards!
But TM is setting us up to not service the strikers. I'd also like to add that it wasn't a penalty at the weekend, so it was very likely we'd have come away with nothing.
Head coaches would love to work with an exciting group of young players, we have some top talent at the club so there will be loads of good coaches wanting the job
It does happen though, look what has happened at man united in the past and is happening again now with the players. Burstow also like a post of Mowbrays sacking , wonder why he did that? Hemir as publicly been thrown under the bus by Mowbray with his comments in the media. So personally i can see players going to Speakman
From my point of view, TM did a good job however it was pretty obvious he was starting to run out of ideas. Thanks to him for all his work. I have no idea who I would try and get as Head Coach - Potter would be great however.
That's a bit of a fantasy piece............oh hang on, Luke Edwards wrote/scribbled it. Move on, nothing to see here........
