Love Tony and gutted to see him go but things were abit stale have to trust the club to do the right thing I guess
I get myself to bed at a decent time and this happens! Like everybody else has said - Mowbray gave us some great football at times last season and for whatever reason that hasn't been replicated this. Here's hoping they get someone in quickly
When it comes out re the Speakman/TM bust up, not over the revels, but over comments TM made and Speakmans counter comments it will be clear as muddy water. And then TM's reactions ????
Well, that's a surprise. He did look fed up, and if he's been getting ill maybe he feels like life's too short. He goes with the bulk of the goodwill intact. Played some great football at times and brought these young lads on leaps and bounds. Hopefully there's a succession plan in place. It looks like we're moving at the same time as other moves are happening, which is well ahead of the game by our usual standards.
Jesus Christ no. He's crap, but Sky treat him like Stephen Hawking because he can string a sentence together.
Something hasn't been right all season, going back to preseason when it looked like we were going to replace him then, in hindsight pity we didn't as it sounds like we had that Farioli lined up who's going great guns with Nice.
If he’s been getting ill, and feeling like life’s too short, I’d be surprised if the club arranged a farewell sacking for him.
Still surprised he didn't go in may/June me. Was always going the second there was any sniff of an excuse. It's a tough gig really. No flex in the model. Have to play the kids and win. But that's the model and it's king. Question it and you'll get the bullet.
Would you leave Nice to come to Sunderland in the rain.? Well it's Merry Xmas Tony from the board at SAFC now **** off.
Yeah. Tone knew though. Parting shot post Millwall. Did a great job to be fair to him but ran out of ideas and didn't align to the board with all ways trust youth without question.
Gut feeling on the replacement being a success? Tough gig to rely on so much youth to go up if that is the aim in the immediate future
Whoever they appoint, I hope its someone they have lined up before ditching TM... We have 2 huge games coming up against good teams, we don't want Dodds at the helm for too long
It's a really hard gig. You know me, I have said the model needs flex. Others disagree. That's now Neil and Mowbray who felt the same and paid the price. Even though Mowbray has performed above his stations last year. Ran out of ideas ultimately this year and they didn't hesitate. Be someone who is on their data list, capable of playing multiple systems, trust in youth and will just be technical head coach. That will rule out nearly all ok the bookies list currently. Sucess without further investment / flex will be so so hard and fair play to anyone who manages it.
