    Disagree, they’re so one dimensional.

More work required on the training ground, so that things get mixed up a bit. It’s not feckin rocket science.

Yes they do. Before lying how about go and watch the Huddersfield game back for example. Mayenda in constant space, constantly showing for the ball, constantly making runs and got ZERO service.

At Brum the players started to get what he was doing, the results tell you that, Rooney is disliked by the squad cos it's mass confusion.

I don't care about Rooney, I care about how Eustace has a style of play which would not fit our players.

In all honesty you look at the people being suggested I'd rather stick with Mowbray, allow the players to develop and bond then see where we end up.

To be honest, we're hardly in the depths of a crisis and being hammered every game. We very recently played some excellent football and were in the top six.

I still believe we'll click again.

    He plays a 4-3-3 formation.

First FIVE minutes of the Huddersfield game.

1:11- Mayenda shows for the ball by dropping off defender creating 5 yards of space, Jobe ignores and plays backwards to Clarke.

1:42- Mayenda in 10 yards of space in centre circle during counter attack, Aouchiche plays a poor pass and defender collects.

2:43- Mayenda makes a run into the left channel, O'Nien kicks it out for a throw in.

3:37- Roberts has Mayenda and Clarke making runs beyond the defence, passes sideways to Jobe.

5:17- Clarke has Mayenda, Aouchiche and Roberts open in the box, cuts inside into 3 defenders and loses possession.

But yeah, it's the strikers fault.

Go watch for yourselves. I would agree with people blaming the forwards if we were flashing balls across the box or playing balls in behind constantly but we aren't. Mayenda is showing for the ball, running behind, creating space in the box and is being IGNORED. But people want to blame the striker?

    strikers...need chances.

this is a made up figure from me by the way, but i reckon strikers will get something like 1 goal for every 5-10 chances created for them, now many will say 'but we have had over 20 chances in games recently and not scored'...that is fair enough but the vast majority of those chances have been shots outside or near the edge of the box, there have been very few 'easier to score than miss' chances and they are the chances we need to start to create.

don't want to see the lads held back as we all enjoy watching them play and try things, but we need to mix it up more and give these strikers some better chances.

Pop Robson once said that if someone else was having a shot, he was already working out in his head where the ball would go if the goalkeeper "saved" the shot and didn't hold onto the ball. That is a poacher, a goalhanger, a proper forward. Niall Quinn told Kevin Phillips in their first training session together that he WOULD win his aerial duel and head the ball towards the penalty spot for him to get a shot away. Strikers do not need to be spoon fed a tap in from 2 yards out, they know where to be in the right place at the right time. Ours do not have that instinct. Jesus Saves, but Pop Robson nets the rebound :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The Scottish premier league is league 1/2 level. Most players that come out of it don’t survive in league 1, never mind the championship, i.e Dylan mcgeough who was rated in the Scottish prem and couldn’t get in our side in league 1. You won’t find heaps of success stories like Stewart. Just look at the poor quality that play for rangers & Celtic currently.

Im not expecting proven premier league quality, but proven championship quality would give us half a chance.

We gained 8-10 mill from the sale of Stewart, if we invested whole amount into a proven striker, we would be currently sitting in the playoffs imo.

Please please please go and watch the full 90 minutes of Sunderland v Huddersfield, it's available on YouTube. Watch Mayenda closely and tell me what he is doing wrong. He is constantly making himself space, constantly running behind, constantly getting into goal scoring positions in the box and not once does one of our players attempt to get him the ball.

Once again, please go and watch the full 90 minutes of Sunderland v Huddersfield on Youtube and explain to me what a so called 'experienced' striker would've done differently to Mayenda.

Watch Majas goal against Leicester, nothing special, no fancy movement just a ball into the box that caused chaos. We don't do that. I am at a loss for words at the people blaming the forwards at this point. Go and watch the games.

So the question is, does Mowbray instruct players not to pass or do they do it off their own back.
