I suppose you look at the overall picture - are we progressing? Is the manager getting the best out of the players? Do the players still respect the manager? Etc

If we were to finish 10th this season, but on more points then I'd see this as progress, or at least the club heading in the right direction. Others would disagree. I don't know what the club's threshold is for changing a manager - we were 3rd in the league when Johnson was (rightly) let go. So numbers aren't everything I guess.

    Kim Hellberg for me.

A few we should considering imo of course:

    Kjetil Knutsen
    Bo Svensson
    Kim Hellberg
    Didier Digard
    Anthony Barry
    Fabian Hürzeler

Ukraine is ranked higher than the Scottish premier league.. the league Stewart came from and the only league Patrick Roberts has done anything in his career.

Are you expecting proven premier league strikers to drop down to come and play for us?

Smzodics was only “proven in L1” as was Whittaker, Hardie, Chaplin, Broadhead, Godden, Coburn.. yet they’re all scoring for fun.

That would be interesting, the crowd reaction would be interesting ...

... centre backs on the wing, three number tens, etc.

What do you know about John eustace and his personality that would make him suited to the challenge here? Or are you basing it simply on his results at Birmingham? Because success at one place doesn't always translate somewhere else

I agree. What's he actually done at Birmingham anyway? They got off to a decent start this season but so did, say, Preston.
Not saying he's a bad coach or anything btw.

Must admit I would rather Mowbray than Eustace I think. Eustace seems a decent coach who can get results but his style of football is pretty grim and I don't think it would work with our group of players. In his games with Birmingham before he was sacked they rarely had more possession than the opponent. The Birmingham owners rightly or wrongly sacked him and replaced him with Rooney with a view to improving the style of play. I also read somewhere there isn't a lot of love between Jobe and Eustace so that would be an issue if correct. Would be a disappointing hire for me.

Not a chance we hire Eustace. It'll be a young, foreign coach most haven't heard of

If/when we replace Mowbray it has to be with a view of evolution not revolution. Despite my serious reservations over his game management and tactical issues, Mowbray has laid some fantastic groundwork and the next appointment has to be someone who will use that not rip it up and change the style completely. Under Mowbray we dominate the ball, changing to someone like Eustace where he would focus on out of possession shape and defensive solidity would be a backwards step and would be the kind of appointment I would only like to see if we were in a relegation scrap. The next appointment has to be someone that has a possession based style of play otherwise we'd have to recruit 10+ new players.

Of course, but we don't need to be going from 60%+ possession every game to under 40%. We just need tactical tweaks. My personal view of football is that you can concede and still win a game but you can't win a game if you don't score so would much rather take risks to win the game and end up losing over playing for clean sheets. I know there is a time and a place for a good solid defensive performance, like Burnley away last season, but I don't want to be watching us have 40% possession and rely on set pieces for goals every week.

The strikers aren’t the problem, it’s more that they don’t get any service from the wings or midfield, and they haven’t for weeks.

I’m convinced that if there was more service, our strikers would score goals.

Surely Tony will eventually wake up and smell the coffee, if not, his P45 is not far away.

Any actual footballing reasons you would want Eustace here? His style of play is horrific and I couldn't care less if he's a straight talking bloke as frankly it means nothing.
