I’m not sure if this has been posted yet as I couldn’t see it so here goes....

Sunderland eye move for former Liverpool winger Riera
    10:34 PM on 20th November 2011

Sunderland are interested in bringing ex-Liverpool winger Albert Riera back to England.
Any deal could prove difficult as the Spaniard is paid £115,000 a week at Galatasaray, but the Turkish side want to re-shape their squad and may be willing to let Riera go to help moves for other targets such as Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov.
Sunderland have been looking for a left winger for the past year and Riera's Premier League experience appeals to Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, who is also giving a trial to former Ipswich striker Caolan Lavery, 19.

Now if this is to be believed what the F**** are we doing looking at 19 year old UNPROVEN striker when it’s goals that we need to stay in the EPL?

It's weeks old but Pavlyuchenko remains available & it now seems old Saggy Chops is after Lukas Podolski.

I read that but TBH the only thing I see is relief from the Bruce out threads, something else to talk about. Are we after these two, who knows, there will be many more names before the window opens.

We wouldn't pay 80k per week for Englands centre forward but we are now willing to pay 115k for a former anfield flop?

    Mmmmm! Err no.

I said all summer long there was DJ Campbell Jay Bothroyd and John Carew all available for free. Are they want we want maybe not are any a replacement for Bent? Certainly not. If we signed any of them would we be in a better position to pick a forward line up? YES!!!

Bothroyd and Carew <doh> - I'd rather put my lad up front and he's 7!!!
DJ Campbell, after Darren bent, was the top scoring English striker last season I believe - he won't score you 30 yard goals but he will find the back of the net by being in THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME which is something we have missed since around January time - can anyone think why? <whistle>
