we will lose this if we show the same desire as today.

    we have to want this.

Big virgil needs to start cracking the dressing room whip. do they really believe thry can go for it the league?

Sheff United getting dicked by everyone. Including Burnley away and Newcastle at home few weeks back.

Our record away to promoted teams been horrendous though

they only need to sit 11 men back and wait.

usually we will cough something up.

Gakpo has to start imo. Nunez isn't great against low blocks.

Nunez finishing is God awful, he doesn't deserve to start anything. Period

Will be interesting because it won’t be great for confidence if we drop him, and he did play his part in the winner… Klopp could easily put it down to the schedule. I don’t know, just easier if you bloody slot home these sitters

I think be plenty rotation. Game every 3 days in December so everyone will have a part and with Jota injured we need to keep that front 4 fit.

Surely the sheff utd heads will be down here?

This is not on telly right? (Sometimes odd things can happen when these sorts of teams think people are watching)

Their home form has been 1-1-5, scored 7 and conceded 19. so 1 goal per game scored and 2.71 conceded

Thier one win was wolves on the 4th of november (2-1) and their draw was 2-2 v everton in september. Nearly half their goals in those two.

    HOWEVER

    in the losses
    0-1 v palace
    1-2 v city
    0-8 v newcastle
    1-2 v Man utd
    1-3 v bournemouth.

The city result stands out most obviously but the loss to spurs was actually them leading and conceding two in late injury time.

We cant take this for granted and I can only presume it'll be a low block with 9 men back and with mcburnie sent off v Burnley they may put 11 back.

    the city line up

    foderingham
    Ahmedhodzic egan robinson
    Baldock souza norwood hamer osborn
    osula Traore

Egan is out. Baldock is out

    Burnely line up:

    foderingham
    Ahmedhodzic robinson Trusty
    Baldock Fleck norwood Thomas
    Archer hamer
    Mcburnie

5 at the back seems highly probable doesn't it?

    My LFC team would be

    Kelleher
    Trent Konate VVD Tsimikas
    Szoboszlai Mcallister Jones
    Salah Gakpo Diaz

Nunez deserves to sit down at this point as much as gakpo deserves a run out.
Gravenberch was not showing any intensity in wining the ball back or that kind of work and looked tired before thier third goal so I'd bench him for one.
Matip is out so its a stright fight between konate and gomez now.

I'd be tempted in this game to do exactly what he did yesterday ande go 4 up for 20mins and then bring elliott etc on.

In most of thier games its been a quick one two thats lead to a very heavy defeat. Newcastle was a qucik 2nd and 3rd. smae for arsenal, quick 2nd and third, amd for bournemouth.

I think if we can get a goal we need to double the effort for 10mins and kill this game off. thier record suggests they are brave enough and trying to hang in there.

Lets face it, they are ****ing diabolical away form home but they are triers so we have to show desire to get in here and out work them to let the quality shine.

Very easy to throw 2 or 3 points we will never get back in the bin here without the desire. If you lose the ball the next 3 to 5 seconds must be 120% effort to win it back. We didn't do that, didn't engage players and didn't make fulham look ordinary.

oh, thanks! I didn't see that on the LFC website, they are not calling it out.

I'd agree in general. Its really backwards but the system works for luddites and small clubs so it won't change. I'd happily burn english football to the ground and only pay LFC for LFC games but there you go.

The new manager bounce going to be a factor
Anything less than 100% here will result in points dropped
Gaffer needs to get our heads screwed on properly for this one

Its easy park two banks of 4 deeps and sit. Villa do it all the time. we were bale to do it with 10 men.

Any manager or coach worth their salt can get a bunch of players up to do it. This lot's record suggests they drop the heads if they let a couple in but fight all game if its tight.

the 3 points are as good as 3 points off city or arsenal and should be respected as such.

I think they will try hard because Burnley have just humiliated them
They are at home and will in their heads - owe the fans a performance
It’s up to us to rise above that -
Totally agree on the 3 points and it’s these sorts of games where we are quite often found wanting

our home record is 7-0-0 our away record is 2-4-1

Chelsea draw started well, fell apart. put down to early team formation
Newcastle win. backs against wall, down to 10 and nunez comes on.
wolves win 3-1 pretty good after a poor start
spurs loss after refereeing debacle. backs to wall and fought hard
Brighton 2-2 did not get the job done after leading. sat off and off in second half.
luton draw. debacle of a game.
City draw. hung on and hung on in a flat game and took the one real chance late.

This set of results is a very mixed bag. 4 out of the 7 are real tough away days. Cheslea, newcastle, spurs and city. All out of the way. 5 points out of 12, very nearly 6 despite the ref.

Its 1 win and 2 draws for 5 points out of 9 in games we need to be winning and thats the fear. We will go and drop points just cos its away or we make mistake or whatever. peoepl don't like me saying it clearly but if we were taking 9 form 9 in those games we'd be well top of the table and looking mean.

We just need to up the levels away off the ball and really drive on imo.
