Obviously the 2 on Sat, plus 1 or 2 others max. Anyway, wait till you see him, he ain't fat! BMI of 19 I heard, which I would love to have!
I'm going to take all the Lambert "banter" with a pinch of salt. With his Rovers link, it's all perfectly understandable. We'd be doing the same if Maynard was ex-Pompey. That said however, I do think some City fans will be in for a shock when he turns up on Saturday (not just because of his improved fitness regime, but because of how blooming good is he now!!). As for the game, I'm not sure how this will go. Obviously we're favourites to win, and I think we will do that. However, I don't think it's a nailed-on away three points as I believed Barnsley and Coventry both to be when we went into those games. City are on some form, and have some good players (I said since day 1 that they'd finish comfortably clear of the bottom three - in that lowish mid-table section with the likes of Pompey, Millwall and Watford; won't go down, but have no chance of a top 6 finish). So I wouldn't be at all surprised if they nicked it 2-1 or something. It's wrong to call our away record "dodgy" - going into the international break last week, we had the 3rd best away record in the whole league, had only lost twice on our travels, were the highest away scorers in the division, and were averaging more than one point per away game - but it's perfectly true to say that it isn't great. Only one win since August, slightly too many goals being conceded, and often starting either the first or second half of games, half asleep (causing us to either have to fight back in a game, or pretty much blow our hard work from the first half out of the window). I'm going for a narrow 2-1 Saints win. But yeah, I think this one could be a tad tricky.
What makes me laugh is the way you think you're amazing now, we're top of the league for a reason - we're better than you, and we know it
I think Saints have had 5 pens this season. At least 2 of them were awful decisions. The one outside the box against Brighton and the supposed handball against Watford. Watch out City, we've got the refs on our side! I think it will be a tight game in the first half but I do think Saints superior fitness will tell in the end. 3-1 Saints.
Well said st brendy all good and valid but don't be suprised at the quality, work rate and tempo that has now been instilled into BCFC,we are a totally different proposition under our new management team Of Del and Doc. Lambert is a class act and I was firing up the banter,we don't under estimate him or Southampton,it should be a hell of a game but I think BCFC will edge it 2-1 with Nicky scoring the winner.
to be fair to Brizzle, your new manager is a quality appointment. Watched the Milwall game and was pretty impressed. In Maynard you have a striker with a brain and pace and that winger (name begins with an A) looks pretty quick too. I think it's likely that you'll scored against us but I'm also convinced we'll score against you (we've scored every game so far). Should be a cracker between 2 confident, form sides and I hope you enjoy your rise up the table (after the match!)
Most of our players don't have pace. De Ridder is probably our fastest attacking player, and he starts from the bench. Lallana is arguably the best player in England outside of the Premiership, and he doesn't have great pace. But as our results show, you don't need pace to be successful.
Because of Adkins simple as that. His training methods as a former physio are excellent at judging the potential of player's fitness levels. The Saints squad have been pushed hard, but not too hard. Why else do you think we score so many late goals. At Burnley we were all over them in the final 15 mins, should have won, same at Coventry. I don't know about Leicester though.
Adamoah, literally the most incomplete player I've ever seen, he's quick and tricky but ****ing hell his final ball is truely dreadful, if he wasn't quick he'd be playing non league without a shadow of a doubt
2 caps for the footballing giants Ghana, wow. Yes Ghana have some very good players but having a poor Championship winger in their squad shows they don't have strength across the park
i just dont get why brizzle city are so cocky? yes they're on an upward spiral, but its a honeymoon period and they shouldnt get carried away like they are
