Because we're the biggest clubs in the league with the biggest potential.
I'm literally putting him out there as a potential target. Look at the people we've went for, before and hrs hardly unrealistic

Going to be honest here, being a big club means absolutely nothing. Would love him here, probably the best young coach in the country, just see no reason for him to leave Ipswich and come here.

One thing will be a certainty before the transfer window opens will be Uncle Tones position. I'm fairly sure ,after listening to them , they will not let anything stand in their way to make the Club successful. If that means they are unimpressed with the tactics, (the first team coaches bar the keepers coach should have been rotated or replaced in the summer of at least every two years) results and the way the team is playing. That will not go on.

Yeah it definitely looked like he clattered him on first viewing and he actually did so Clarke went down naturally with no 'simulation'. Only from one angle could you see the ball change direction slightly to show it was a legit tackle.

As you say it's rare for a manager to be so even handed. Usually the best you get is they don't want to talk about it.

Tony is in to his second season with the club, and still without an established centre forward.

He is working wonders in my opinion.

He first needs to learn how to get a team to feed a striker.

i hope this established striker everyone thinks is going to sort everything out, can keep clean sheets, creates chances for him self, give us abit of width, over lap for roberts and clarke and can also give mowbray a plan B

i think mowbray has played it to a T to some fans always blaming a striker, took all the attention away from himself and in my opinion destroyed hemir confidence in the process of saving himself

Fair points. I think he should be away. We look less organised defensively and got worse when Mowbray had forwards available-his comments about Hemir and the language are really poor man management as well imo.

An established striker still needs to be given chances, ours are having to go wide or deep to even get a sniff of the ball.

We have some highly rated, although young and inexperienced strikers. Get the ball to them in their actual position and we will start scoring. Supplying the striker is the biggest issue we have imo.

Just watched the post match interview, feel for the bloke as he knows he is almost on his notice period.

He’s not wrong with us being a good team but being unable to score. Confidence in front of goal is absolutely dire. Although very risky I’d have been tempted to let Mayenda take the penalty to give him a boost.

I have reservations about Mowbray but can't agree with that. The bloke has better things to do than play daft games, I think he wants to win games ... simple as that.

And I don't think his man management is poor, I've no doubt all these players have their own bold characters and need different management. He's experienced enough to know how best to apply the carrot, the stick or a mixture of both.

This is spot on. Every window we sign talent to develop but leave a significant weakness. The cdm role this time has made things hard. Yes we’ve got injuries but we knew it would be half a season without the depth we needed. We didn’t sign goals anywhere either - loads of attacking midfielders, few goals. Tough to be at the head of a squad with gaps. Do I think Mowbray should be making more of the strikers? Yes. Do think they’re ready for this physical competitive league? No. So he’s right in saying he has to develop the player, because they’re not ready. Jobe isn’t but I bet he daren’t drop him - that’s the challenge.. Mowbray the face of a cumulative growth project in the context of a zero tolerance industry. I ts a tough job.

I think though that a striker with confidence, stature, personality would get the ball where he wants it or be kicking off. Would they be passing to Stewart? Damn right they would

I remember Paul Heckingbottom being on some people's wish list, perhaps he still is ...

... he certainly has some interesting man-management ideas <laugh>

Fair point amongst many fair points I’ve read this morning. An established striker could also be someone for the younger strikers to look to.

Like Magnus says though, our problems are not just limited to that.

Watching yesterday’s interview again I think Mowbray might be expecting the sack. Whether there’s anything behind that or not.
