But it is the coach who gets the sack if the director of football's signings aren't working. DOF is in a "no-lose" situation.
Good post mate he’s very well thought of in Germany and St Pauli are playing the best football in 2.bundesliga by a mile. To be doing that at 30 is pretty incredible. Kjetil Knutsen is an obvious choice but may get a bigger than us. Christian Ilzer is one that interests me. Doing really well at Sturm Graz and they’ve got a young squad like us. However they don’t really look to control possession it’s more heavy metal midfield overloads and play quite narrow with a diamond 4 in the middle with 2 up top meaning all of their width essentially comes from the full backs getting forward. This would be a perfect fit for our midfielders but wouldn’t suit Clarke/Roberts at all.
first of all let me get this bit out, we have a good squad and some good players and enjoy watching them play most of the time. started well again, was nice to see some long balls and crosses mixed in but it did not last, onien made some great passes over to clarke but out of his first four runs he had two fouls given against him and only missed the third as they kept the ball, noticed people wondering why he got a card and the simple fact was that he racked up about five fouls by then, that said, he had no help at all when he got the ball. ba, everyone wanted to see him start but all he did was walk into a player and fall to the floor, i have no idea what has happened to ekwah and neil and once again another player gets his first start (adil) and did nothing of real note so our midfield had a 'day off' again meaning there was very little going into the box, pritchard pushes forward, knows where his pass is going and moves on, he creates space and movement around him so it was no suprise that we seemed to go up a couple of gears when he came on, also have to add that dack slipped in well also with some lovely touches and roberts brought some energy. we have to get the defence sorted out before anything, when a team is on top and throwing everything at you then you expect them to have some chances but i watch games now and teams just wait and score in their first couple of attacks and chances and it is never a great passing move, it is quick and direct, at least make them work for a goal...the manager/coach has to be the one to work on it, no more of CD running half way up the pitch and being too far out of position, no mor eof the right/left backs running around in midfield, get them back to working partnerships and covering for each other, giving high fives rather than filthy looks searching for blame. we need the team working as a team again, they are good players but for some reason they cannot get back into last seasons form, i expected some bad days as well as the good and can take the odd bad performance but TM needs to work with them to get more solid and creating decent chances, especially for the strikers. MotM for me is patto, single handedly allowed us to grab a point...i am ok with the cards we got first half but there were two or three 'tackles' from them that the ref overlooked, otherwise not a bad day for the officials.
Chunks mate, posts like this belittling people who have an opinion you feel to be negative is as damaging as the ones who post about O’Nien all the time
don’t think we’ve been able to properly see. I think even a seasoned pro would have struggled in these recent games. for me the frustrating think about the interview and this continued focus on the strikers not being ready is that it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. If we keep telling them they’re not ready, they won’t be. the Mowbray of last season, and even earlier this, would have been saying they’re ready and haven’t had much luck
Not particularly, Neil played 3 at the back in every championship game he was in charge of us, Mowbray came in and changed the system.
Why is it belittling? Didn't matter what happened today, TM will be gone and people won't settle till it happens. God help whoever comes in and syluffers a slump in form
it’s the sarcasm. People can think Mowbray deserves the sack; that O’Nien should be dropped; that the tactics are awful ;metc. They’re all genuine points of view. As are the views to the contrary.
See this I don’t get! There’s been no protests or **** all just people chatting **** on a forum how’s that deciding who manages the team? He will get sacked by the owner when the owner is sick of the results not when someone says he’s **** and needs to go on not606
that’s why he’s the head coach and not the manager. It’s the job he signed up to do, and a job he relishes.
OK, sorry for trying to be optimistic. I got in trouble a couple of weeks ago and don't really want to go down that route again. Should have stuck to my post and logged off, I blame the rubbish forest game
aye but there’s optimism and then sarcastically mocking those that aren’t. and of course today would have made a difference. A good performance and he wouldn’t have been getting this much stick. Any manager at any club in this division would be the same.
mate nowt wrong with being optimistic crack on just don’t slag people of for not being so optimistic it’s that easy. None of us should be happy with the results because they’ve been ****.
I disagree mate. I think we have seen enough now of Burstow (i was pleased he started today but was out of his depth imo), and Hemir who to me looks like a youth team footballer in a mans body. Mayenda just looks raw, but with attributes. Rusyn is the best of the lot by a mile but has had a massuve upheaval in coming here and I have no idea what his home situation in Ukraine is like. Bottom line is these lads were always a bit of a punt and right now lool like massive works in progress to me. All have a chance to make it in time, but I reckon Mowbray is right to call it out. Honestly, for me, unless Rusyn is fit I would leave the rest on the bench and play Dack as a false 9.
