Ralls would have made no difference. He’d have slowed it down even more than it has been. Southampton are a class apart but City are playing into their hands by being so negative. Meite & Robinson totally ineffective
Not sure what problem Ralls appears to have, but if he's fit enough to come on from the bench, Bulut should have started him.
Ralls fully fit is a huge player for us and always has been. Every manager weve had with him knows it and the likes of Bellamy have spoken about his importance as well. When he doesnt play its more noticeable.
Ill give him the benefit of the doubt and Ralls wasnt fully fit. Wintle is a decent midfielder at this level so if Ralls wasnt right then put him in.
Theres a small proportion of our fan base who just dont appreciate what an outstanding player and servant Ralls has been to us since his debut. Your one of them and your entitled to your opinion.
If that had been 8-0 City couldn’t have complained. Absolutely outplayed. If ever there was a doubt City need to invest in a raft of new players next month then that abysmal display dispelled any doubt. Ng Collins Siopsis Wintle Meite Bowler & Robinson had shockers. Our season arguably turns on our next 2 home games v Millwall & Brum. Our home form was good but taken a double hit so the players need to take the initiative in these games and start positively.
Having watched Leicester earlier this afternoon - they're as good as up. We've got them at home last game of the year and anything from that game will be a bonus. Having said that, our other five games before the New Year are all very winnable. The other results this weekend with teams around us like Preston, Blackburn, Hull and Middlesbrough all losing points to the last couple of places in the top 6 being up for grabs. The right decisions come January from the owner on the funding front and the manager on the targets will be season defining.
We bow have 4 points from 5 the same as the first 5 games and still there is support for Bullit (sounds like something else). When he has to take off Meitie Siopsis, Grant and Wint;e and ask Ralls Colwill Ettete Ugbo and Tanner to save him it confirms hes played the wrong starting 11. When these players came on the game was already lost. I lost stream but had commentary and Bowler was the best forward player. This is my reading of the situation but if others think a striker with 1 goal should play before strikers with 3/4 goals there is no answer to that.
Ubgo does nothing but goal hang. He provides nothing else to the team. That is why he is benched. Brought on late to try to change the game but will create nothing on his own. It is a team game. You should remember that.
When u say season defining your not expecting a promotion challenge are you.? We are miles away from being a credible challenger. The window should be about bringing in players who can be part of long term success. This season season defining should be if we look back in 3 , 4 ,5 years was when a sensible rebuild took place. This could easily be a window where wed need players to stay up. Im sure thats not the case. Lets not blow the window on old players on a completely unrealistic play off target.
Football is very simple and when you have two simple players like Wintle and Siopsis give them one simple job, stay on the halfway line and stop attacks before they happen because right now they have not got a clue where to be, teams are walking past those two that is why our defence came under so much pressure. Anyone who thinks Meitie is our number one striker when he has only one goal is beyond belief. The manager brought on players he thought could do better than the ones he started with so that is an admission that he got it wrong again.
Personally I know that he players did try hard but the other side were too good and took advantage of our weak midfield and poor striker.
From what I posted I would have thought it obvious I'm suggesting a top 6 challenge - if we get in there then anything is possible. I'm not suggesting we blow Tan's money on "old" players, just the right ones to take the club forward - if you class them as old and they can do a job then OK.
Thats fair enough. Nothing wrong with being positive. I just think that top 6 is completely unrealistic and borderline delusional. Avoid a relegation battle this season and promosing long term signings equals a hugely successful season. So id say 16th above = success
This type of discussion has been started on the post WBA thread. If we’re there or thereabouts come the end of this month (and we should be as we’re due to play teams capable of being beaten) then the club may well finance a play off push but clearly as seen from the last 2 games City are streets behind the top teams.
We were winning 2-0 at Leeds and 2-0 at Ipswich and if Bullit had not changed a wining team would have won and that against the top two sides, so the problem is we do not have a top manager. Bullit has come out and said we do not have the quality Southampton have yet we lost because he insists on playing Meitie who cannot score a goal and left two strikers on the bench who can score. The only game we won in the last 5 is when Meitie came off and Ugbo came on and scored a late winner. This shows we have the quality but if you don`t play them from the start then only one person is to blame and it is not because we do not have quality players. Bullit has said the players we have are not good enough, what effect will that have on the players. What else is Meitie doing if he is not scoring and we lose the game...the only part of the game that means anything is scoring and stopping the other side scoring apart from that everything else is a waste of time. Did we score NO...did we stop them scoring NO .
