What do you not want to receive ? Socks ? A few years ago, just before my birthday, I told my wife that I would hate it if friends brought me garden gnomes as a gift - at the 'party' I got 23 of them !

I saw the funny side - even threatened to disown the friends who hadn't bought me a gnome. That night I put them in my front garden - in the morning half of them had been ' taken '

I hate gift vouchers. It just shows a lack of imagination and they are always for shops I don't shop in.

My mum bought me a bread maker when I was 19. She thought it was a good idea since I like bread. <doh>

This wasnt just any peeler. It was a "magic peeler" and had lil grooves on the side to make chips with. Still crap though

I tell my ma NEVER to buy me clothes. She usually does and I usually take them back.

I do love getting an envelope of notes. Best present.

Absolutely. When you open the parcel and start to see Blue Harbour or Maine tags, you know that you just been bought a one-way ticket to middle aged blandness.

After a bit of faux surprise/ gratitude and a bit of 'oh, it's lovely', Boxing Day has its first entry on the 'to do list.'

I always buy my sons clothes at Christmas - they love it.

Themed posing pouches are the way to go.

One suspects that Cossy might like a Kermit the Frog one to keep his winklewongle nice and warm in those brutal Northern climes.

Animal, Saltrock, North Face, Gul, a bit of Superdry, occasional Fat Face and a few others.

Anything that looks good - but M&S and Debenhams don't do it for me <dryboak>
