    <laugh> Well, that didn't last very long...<laugh>

They're also headlining the Saturday night at SVF Midlands (on my birthday weekend) and SVF North (the weekend after Rebellion)...so that's cost us a smidgen under £750 extra already...<wah>

I knew Rat's return was going to get expensive! I may have to sell a kidney.

    Oh nooooooo!

There are at least 3 items that I would consider losing body parts to own. If I pay what I fear it may cost to own them, Mrs B will see that they're my cock and balls, and all this prostate business will have been for nought.

What I need is a cunning plan....

Pogues Best Of was a permanent disc on in the car on our holidays and one year made the mistake of buying the kids a penny whistle each , that was fun but the daughter can still play Streams Of Whiskey no problem but the sons one got lobbed out of the window after a strangled version of The Irish Rover

His great skill was to write catchy songs, which sounded like there were old, traditional Irish folk songs, albeit that they were played in a revved-up punk rock style. Others tried to copy - notably in the US where they bought into the Irish thing in a big way - but none succeeded.
“Streams of Whiskey” and “ Sally McClennane” are the best examples.

Brian, is it possible that I saw this band in 77 ,think it was the Roundhouse , I remember being amused by the look of the punk band that looked like an ELO tribute act
I'm sure they toured with another band at the time

You very well might gave done. I remembered the name but not a lot else about them. Having looked at them on Wikipedia, they are out of the same stable as The Dolls, Jane County & The Electric Chairs, The Tubes and a number of others, who have come to be listed as 'Proto Punk'.

I'm going to do some listening this weekend, as they're supposed to have been good with an arch sense of humour.

Can you remember anything about seeing them?

Hazy memories, lots of energy and strangely the Bass players name which was Mark the Animal Mendoza and on the night Handsome Dick Manitoba came on for the encore, why he was there God knows
I also had the album Manifest Destiny which as I recall my brother nicked because he was a lggy and the stooges fan and it had a good cover version of Search and Destroy ( which I found on YouTube and that jogged my memories)
He nicked most of my punk records and I found out that it all went to a charity shop when he moved to Cornwall <doh>

I could no more sell my record collection than sell my children. Recently, my brother's widow asked me to go through his...and if there was anything I wanted. There should have been a couple of things, that weren't there...<wah>...the BEF album that kick started Tina Turner's revival and a 3 disc Trojan History. I am pretty sure that they'll be somewhere safe and I'll see them again...because I bought them for him..

I did find a couple of my records...<laugh>...I'm sure that I've got a few of his. Selling them is sacrilege...and he didn't need the money. I was given a fraction of his bike gear...which included unworn Dainese and Furygan 2 piece leather outfits worth £1k+ each and a beautiful watch. He was rich....really RICH and he'd have given them to me, had I asked him.
