Number one priority for me is to add some actual attacking quality. I’d try and send edozie out on loan and spend some money on a more proven winger. We need to add goals and none of our wingers are doing the business except Fraser. Number two is a Left back. Bree looks v good covering there. Manning is a disaster of a signing.
Need a dynamic 8, Someone better than Smallbone who can dominate midfield and get up and down the pitch.
Agreed. The standout player of the whole division so far. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him picked up in Jan
I think we should sell Che, loan out/sell Mara and bring in a striker in January. We already have too much riding on a player that’s been out injured for a very long time clicking here, rediscovering his form and remaining injury free. Another SR transfer gamble that’s backfired. Best case scenario is looking like Stewart ‘only’ misses half the season.
I would like to see us sell Tall Paul, Che and Mara then buy a FIT proven striker who actually scores goals
We literally haven’t had a striker since 2021. It’s beyond a joke at this point. (I’m not really counting Adam Armstrong as he has played more of an hybrid attacking midfield role so far this season rather than a focal point)
A left footed left back please. Manning is a poor defender. No pace, and I don`t see he adds anything in attack. Bree is a good defender, but limits our attacking options on the left because he is predominantly right footed. KWP can be effective both on left and right. Perhaps the best compromise for the time being would be Bree on the right and KWP on the left??
With Stewart out injured again, I wonder if we might be tempted to dip in for a loan striker? Or flip Ché to someone and buy a new one.
If we’re serious about going for a top 2 spot we absolutely need to imo. Bringing in Billy Sharp in January last time we were in this league helped us get over the line, and that was with a more potent attack already in place than the one we currently have.
Not just New Year, but mid to late January probably means February before he starts to see some minutes again. Sooooo what striker should we go for in January then? I’m going to start the wish list with one that’s injury free and fit to play.
Going on the way Che played towards the end of the last window we should expect him to score a few in the next one, before tailing off again, if he doesn’t get sold.
Armstrong is our billy sharp, we need a Lambert/Pelle/Ings. Stewart may be great but pointless if he’s injured all season.
