I like Tony and I’m not Mowbray out by any stretch I’d love him to turn this round and we all have egg on our face but things need to change and quick, no way KLD lets this spiral for much longer
Just an opinion mate, if the aim was top two then I can’t see them being happy with this, soon as someone that fits the bill is available they’ll pull the trigger, in my opinion of course
Well I agree with that, but I would think that’s the same with every club, who would keep a manager when there is a better one available. Everyone on here seems to want rid of him the same as all the Arsenal fans wanted rid of Arteta after a bad start, what bloody idiots they look now, very quiet as well hiding under there beds probably.
We’re on relegation form at the minute, and it’s just as well we have points on the board and the bottom 3 look doomed. The good football has deserted us, and we look like conceding every time the opposition attacks. Something has got to give, and very soon IMHO. I reckon TM. has got the next 3 games to turn things around, but I don’t think he’ll succeed. Bart
You just need to go back and look at the comments from the end of last season. Some of us on here were saying his record shows that last season he was probably peaking with us. If everybody is happy to change the first team with better players when they become available, why not the manager?
All comes down to what is the objective from the ownership is for this season Try and challenge top 6, develop young players, and play with style = Keep TM until summer, then likely change if a potentially better replacement is found to really try and secure promotion next year (and PL consolidate) Go all out for top 6 this season = Replace TM with an upgrade. who can both play well and get good results. Suspect whether the ownership can find this profile of mgr and available,. will determine whether what happens with TM The results of 8 losses from 18 clearly reflect his days are numbered here for next season.
I'm not saying he's beyond criticism, imo he's well beyond getting rid of after a few poor results. It's obvious these lads are trying their best for him, we've seen plenty managers in the recent past where our players have stopped trying....this certainly isn't the case.
Cheers mate. No I wouldnt be looking to change it soon. Obviously there has to come a point where change is needed, but I think we are some way off that personally. Changing head coaches is a tricky business and I think we have a credibility issue to overcome sadly. We must have had 20 managers in the last 25 years and rhat gets recognised. Even under KLD we have rattled through them. There is an issue in my opinion whereby we dont show patience as a club. Mowbray last season did a tremendous job, if we got rid now I think our reptutation would suffer further as a place for coaches to thrive. I know the argument that the head coach is easily replaced in our model. Not so sure that is true, or we as a club are that mature yet. Only out of work coaches have been brought in so far by KLD. That is telling about the plan I think. I honestly dont see anyone better out there who I think would look at us as a great prospect right now. We have an ultra young side with loads of players still bedding in. We as fans might think our young side should be top 6 but I wonder how many accomplished coaches would look at it and agree. We need to remember how we have picked players up in my opinion and how much of a long term project the club seems to think they are. We might attract one of these young overseas coaches I keep reading about, but that seems risky to me and how long do they get? A year? A year and a half? I would be giving Mowbray a bit more respect personally than some seem to be. Some of our better players arent at the same level as last year (Ekwah, Roberts, Hume). Some of the new lads are yet to settle. Not yet 18 months since we scraped out of league 1 after 4 miserable years. Time to show some patience for me and see where we are come end of Jan / early Feb.
It’s a bit of a pointless debate really it’s like moaning about how much players cost or how much they get paid. if the higher ups aren’t happy they will get rid.
It's pretty clear we need a change I hope any delay signals that the club are actively pursuing a replacement and will pull the trigger when he's ready to come in.
People will think I am harsh, he needs to go, and he will be well rewarded for it, more than most of the supporters who follow the club
