All five runners are French-bred in the (14:20) at Lingfield, a Class-4 Novices' Handicap Chase over 2m4f on forecast good-to-soft ground. Hopeful the top-weight, Passing Well, will outclass his opponents in this affair. However, the real 'fly-in-the-ointment' is the bottom-weight and odds-on favourite, Heva Rose. Selection has to give a huge amount of weight to the mare, and we'll have to wait and see if the Coastal Path gelding will be up to it? (15:45) Taunton, Div.2 of a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m3f on good (good-to-soft in places) ground. A competitive finalé with several runners holding decent chances. The Arcadio gelding, Noble Savage, is in with a squeak, and should stay the distance well-enough on decent going for NH racing. Tricky event, so just a modest punt. Apologies, Chan, admit it does take me a while to get going in the morning, and then, of course, I have to work-out my picks (I do try, and don't use a silver pin!).
