The main issue to me at the moment is that he can’t seem to hurt teams like we did last season when we had Amad. It seems because of that we have lost our way a bit and a loss of confidence after seeing increasingly chances not being put away. Here we are at the end of November and the strikers brought in by the recruitment team have not scored a single goal. Is that TM’s fault I don’t think so but he has to work with what he has been given. Hopefully in January Amad might come back or get someone else in to score the goals. Negativity has crept in like on this board with the I told you squad. Just need to keep focused and moving forward. Long way to go yet. January if done right can be a game changer. Start the bitching and moaning at the end of the season if we don’t go up not halfway through the job. This board in my opinion is deteriorating rapidly with all the hindsight comments. We are Sunderland and nothing ever comes easy but we are getting there. Want to bring in a foreign manager ffs really? Let’s just keep going and focus on getting a result in the next game. Believe in what we have which is a million miles better than what we have had to suffer for many years. I would hate to be in a bunker on the front line of a war with some of the posters on here. Have the balls for the fight and have the commitment to see the job through. Stop the wining and give the club, TM and lads all the support they need. HTL!!!
Agree with all of that. Absolutely baffling to me how we've gone from a quick passing through the lines team to a slow as **** sideways and backwards passing team is mind boggling tbh.
Slept on it still pissed off, we need to go back to basics players in natural positions and play with tempo again, actually look to hit the striker when he’s trying to stretch the game made it so easy just playing infront of them yesterday, massive 3 games coming up anything less than 4 points and I think he will be out of a job
I can see Leeds at home being his last game. Fans will definitely turn, it’s been nowhere near good enough this season. Leeds turning up and taking the piss could well be the final straw.
Yeah good point. It's been over complicated and it's killing us. Huggins not playing is a joke. Zero overlapping fullbacks. Easy to play against. Subs are a mess and no plan B. Bigger issue is, the more we creep towards mid to lower table, the more our better players will want to be away in Jan.
I was adamant no one would go until the summer but if a big bid comes in and we’re nowhere near play offs I think your right, plus side we will get to see what we do with a big fee atleast, will we strengthen or just get more lads in to develop? Need people ready to contribute now for me we have enough long term project players here already
Last night was the first time that I've been concerned about Tony Mowbray . . . . he seems to be playing all of the right players, but not necessarily in the right order (cheers, Eric), and he's been doing so for a while He needs to find and use the right order pretty sharpish now 'cos a lot more than before are (rightly) questioning him. I thought last night was our poorest performance in a while. I just wonder if the intense focus on us getting a striker into the groove.....any one of the four....has interrupted the way we were playing earlier in the season when we didn't have this focus,but we were still getting goals from all over the pitch.
I just don't need to bang on about it constantly. We're having a sticky spell but aren't a million miles from where we should be. We were in play offs a few days ago. To pin all our successes last season on Amad and our failings this year on tone is double standards. But is typical of you.
I dont think so. It's not just on Tone. It's on recruitment too. I said so at the time with lack of a proper 9 and not signing a CDM. But got pelters for it. Tone has performed poorly for a while now, tactically it's abysmal.
Aye it is. Personally think TMs days at Safc are numbered now. It’s small margins and if Bellingham had scored when put through at 1-1 it’s probably a win and everyone saying it’s a good sign getting 3 points when not at your best etc. How Pritchard doesn’t get in is baffling and him and Dack on at the same time is also baffling as we look so unbalanced. Cirkin is a huge miss when not in the side as well.
The lack of urgency , from the very first minute, from the keeper through to the rest of the team, was unforgivable We were playing at home, against a team which had not won in 5 games At the very least we could have looked like we wanted to do things quickly, to put them under pressure, to show we meant business And how many times did Aouchichi(sp) receive a pass in the middle of the pitch and pass it straight back to the bloke he had just got the pass from ?? Ridiculous, what is the point in that, it just slows down the play, and allows to oppo to settle in their defensive ranks Lots of times we had possession just for the sake of it
