He’s definitely great. Perhaps better suited to a central midfield role where he never seems rushed, always dropping his shoulder and finding 5 yards for himself. As others were just passing the ball around at the end of the game he was going past players, playing one two’s etc. Although can he only do it on a cold Tuesday night in Hull
Brereton Diaz isn’t really a centre forward either, tends to play wide of a three usually or certainly did at Blackburn.
After "that" miss he has a lot of making up to do, probably only by scoring the winning goal at Bellend Road or a play off final, but I do like him
It’s definitely something teams do. Watched an interview with the Notts County manager where he talks about how the ball is in play in their games more than any other team in their division. They specifically aim to get the ball back in play so opposition sides don’t get a breather. https://x.com/lowertiers/status/1727315641747886161?s=61&t=DOXDA5irW1lHulJeMn2Xnw
“But what’s the point in shuffling it across the back 4?” almost like it can create new openings by stretching the pitch
I don't really get the Traore love-in , I'm not sure how he is "definitely great", maybe he has played a lot of his limited game-time out of position though
really good squad player to have in my opinion given his versatility. Being able to do 3 positions well like he can is fantastic when injuries hit like they did last year
I said that to my lad that the kit they had in was embarrassingly **** and it looked like it had run in the washer or summat.
I thought he was one of our best players in the run in last season, hasn't quite got going this season but has shown glimpses. His best position is probably in the number 10 role, but he lacks the intensity Twine offers.
He definitely struggled playing the wide role, doesn’t suit him at all. But he’s produced some very special moments wherever he’s played.
I agree, he has been asked to play sometimes on the right which is not his best position but either in the defensive midfield role or further forward centrally he is good.
