Milan shouldn't be under estimated it's still a very difficult task. This is the thing Newcastle still have to beat one of the most successful and biggest clubs in the world regardless of this decision.
For me what impressed me today was the structure of the team, so disciplined to a man. The fight, the organisation, the strength. We are a brilliantly physical athletic side which a lot of teams can’t handle. Let’s hope we don’t burn out to much. Miggy, Bruno, Tino & Pope tonight were quality.
They were looking for it all the second half but we'd have done the same.. can't blame the players..... Newcastles task is unchanged because they would still have needed to beat Milan...
Newcastle have to beat Milan and if they don't dont everything else is irrelevant. It's all if buts and maybes outside that. Win the game.
What if we draw against Milan. Same points. No head to head but we got better goals difference and goals scored We be 3rd. Europa league wouldn’t be bad. We could go further and make more money?
Exactly. Though I wonder if simply exiting is enough at this point, as we will be rolling the vast CL wealth into FFP calculations from Jan and the Sunmer, alongside the money from Saudia, Sela and Adidas. I’m not sure the rigours of Thursday night are great for us particularly as I think Liverpool will walk to that trophy. That in itself will almost guarantee CL for 5th which is achievable. That said I think we will go through. PSG aren’t all that but Dortmund are. And karmas a bitch.
The next month I sense will be tough and the end result of this season most likely will see us drop to around 8th, but we'll kick on again. Other clubs and their fans will sigh a relief but once they realise this seasons gone they'll soon realise Newcastle are going nowhere. The January transfer window and the summer will see 3 or 4 players come in and we'll be looking very strong.
