Great result, due a comfortable home win with an early goal - do feel for the players at times, win 4-1 at home, atmosphere poor all night and 2/3 of the stadium leaves before clapping them off - hope that improves over time but still think it’s poor

Fair enough, I'm definitely being harsh on him and I think I'm probably subconsciously comparing him to the output of Philogene which is unfair, and like I said I think he's very effective in the role he's playing for the side, but just think he's a bit indecisive at times and don't think he has a goal or assist yet. You're quite right that those aren't the be all and end all and he's done well to be involved in some great attacking plays, just think his biggest strength is still the space he grants Philogene on the other side.

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior said:

"The ruthlessness was there. We had that end product and some of our football was a joy to watch.

"We are showing real quality at the moment. The players are enjoying being at this club and I'm loving working with them.

"I was furious [with Rotherham's goal] as I'm a defender by trade and at heart but because we were in such a comfortable position, those moments don't hurt you as much."

"What Jaden [Philogene] is showing is moments of absolute quality but it's not about just one individual, it's about the group. And, as a group, our performance was just outstanding."

Rotherham caretaker manager Wayne Carlisle said:

"It's about trying to give them the confidence and energy to get them moving again. At home we have energy and do go after teams, but away from home we don't seem to be able to back it up.

"I didn't think they lost heart but when you shoot yourselves in the foot as early as we did it's easy to get a bit frantic. The energy levels just didn't seem to be there and we didn't get up to speed quickly enough.

"[The away form] is obviously an elephant in the room and we'll try to address it but I don't know what's going through their heads."

[On the manager vacancy]: "I'm waiting to hear [from chairman Tony Stewart]. Obviously with games coming in quick succession, there hasn't been too many discussions.

"I imagine the phone will probably ring either [Tuesday evening or Wednesday] and we'll have a phone call."

I deffo wore the 'right' clothes and I've still got my frozen bollocks rattling about like loose change.

Just hope I don't pull em out for the barmaid.

I agree the space is a huge benefit and potentially what has held us back from looking better in the final third. I guess it's always a bit tricky judging wingers, by nature they tend to be a bit hot and cold with decisions and end product, I mean Philogene was getting called out on it not too long ago by some and there's an element of truth to that, but I suppose the hope is that they make up for it with enough goal contributions to compensate.

I just think if you leave early after your teams played well and scored a load of goals, you’re always going to - sort of kills the whole argument of ‘if they perform better, the atmosphere will improve’ etc

Some real variety in the play tonight. Controlled the ball between the defenders on the halfway line before attacking in quick bursts, some confident flick ons and layoffs right across the middle line and wide areas, lots of great long balls forwards, good wide play, good crosses, good runs through the middle and lots of decent efforts on goal... From an attacking perspective it had pretty much everything we need to be showing. Rotherham weren't fantastic and that's partly down to sheer dominance from us. If we're playing with two wingers like that and we can score first then I think we'll always be at our best regardless of who we're up against.

Only negatives were conceding the soft goal and the ref not giving a clear penalty for handball in the second half, but the ref got pretty much everything else right as far as I could see. It's easy to say it doesn't matter so much when you've got 4 goals and are picking up 3 points but GD could be important come May.

Really glad Twine got off the mark for us as its been coming. Another good winger, a striker option and what might be Bird in January should see us kick on even more.

Some really confident, sublime play and a well deserved 3 points. More of the same please.

A lot of city fans have always had a more 'transactional' relationship with the club than perhaps other North Eastern port cities have done.

It's how we've gone from healthy crowds to 3.5 median average over a relatively short space of time in the past - and vice versa depending on feelgood factor and results.

The one song that cut with me that first prem season was ' where were you when you were ****".

Cos when we're ****, all we're left with is die hards and those coming along for a moan.

Shame City took their foot off the gas after 60mins...Could have really gone to town on the GD....
BTW...How did that lot draw against Leeds? They're a National League team.

Oh, side mention for Jones as well. Some of his passes quickly into Delap's feet really helped us keep them on the back foot and heaped the pressure on. He did it a few times tonight and it just added another dimension to our attacking play.

    Well played ref too.

Same again on sat from the officials too.

Wouldn't be comment worthy if she wasn't the best one we've had at home this season.

    Credit where it's due.

He was my first choice in Summer before we got Allsop. He's been their best player for a couple of seasons now, and at 25 he's at a great age. If we go up, or we get an injury, he would be a great signing.
